embluss
Hi. I just joined the forum, so I figured I'd say hi and give you an awesome quest suggestion  Quest 1 intro- shadows cast across the sea for thousands of years, the great magical domes of energy have kept the vampyres out of the eastern cities as the countryside around them succumbed to the plague. But now, with rumors of a second god wars rampant, the dragonkin surfacing, and majharat raging across the earth, the vampyres too are becoming more bold. They have long sought to bypass the barriers and corrupt them for a new, sinister purpose. But the archmage of the coastal city of Luminum has summoned a spirit into himself, and his life force, which is tied to that of his city's dome, is being corrupted. Vampires, although it weakens them, are pouring through. The archmage must be cured and the vampires driven out before it is to late and the first city falls. Start Point- talk to the embassador from the eastern lands to the royal court of Varrock. Requirements- Legacy of Seergaze, at least three quests that earn the trust of a specific government (or certain guilds), 57 prayer, 60 mage, decent agility level, and ability to kill a bunch of vampyres Complete quest 1 manuscript in spoiler RALLYING SUPPORT after talking to the amabasador to start the quest, you will need to rally at least three nations/tribes to help. Each tribe requires a different quest and some may need extra convincing. The legends guild can also be called upon. After talking to friendly leaders to get three armies to help out, go back and talk to the ambassador. He will ask you if you are ready to set sail. If you say yes, he will take you to his boat at the mouth of the river lum. Off to the eastern land! LANDING as you aproach the shore, a cutscene showing a vampyre blockade starts. Some vampyres start flying towards you, and those ships have some big guns... Prepare to be boarded. 3 level 100 vyrewatch and one level 120 vyremage will land. The vyremage uses blood spells that give each of the vyrewatch 1/6 of the damage or one of them 1/2 of it. When a vyrewatch is killed, the health sapped will not be transfered to another vyrewatch. The vyremage can heal itself and will fly away when all three vryewatch are killed. Talk to the ambassador. He wants you to help load the cannons with silver cannonballs. Run the blockade, firing the cannonballs or killing the juvinates that are boarding constantly. WELCOME HOME TO HELL after you run the blockade, the ambassador will take one look at the city and go insane. A few buckets full of sea water and/or slaps get him to come to his senses. The barrier is corrupted. Origionally, it had kept vampire spirits out, but human spirits are now held in. Going through it kills you, so he advises you not to try. you will have to sail upriver on the lifeboats to reach a safe city. As you ride up the river, you'll get a good look at the devestated landscape beyond the barriers. It is similar to Morytania, except you can catch glimpses of the lost beauty- waterfalls that must have once been beautiful barely trickling the red water, dead flowers growing, and ruins of towns that were abandoned for the safety of the barriers. You'll arrive in a city around the size of falador. The dome glares light blue, unlike the red of the corrupted one. SORRY, ANOTHER HELL- THE LIBRARY when you land in the city with the remains of the armies in the small flotila of lifeboats, a group of samuri armed with silver weapons and armor will greet you with suspicion. Off to the inn to heal up and rest. when your character wakes up, he is summoned to.. dunn dunn da! the library to help research the situation. You have to read one certain book that will give you the basics- first vampires made in the east, ancestral spirits summoned through a variation of necromancy to talk to, but they take over the summoner, eternal ruin, blah, blah, blah, etc, etc. A few more books can be found for people like me who love storyline. STARBOUND CITADEL after reading the book, one of the scribes will find an ancient book, barely readable except for a few pages which were enchanted to last forever. They mention the place where saradomin first touched the earth. It says that when he first entered the world, he did not change his essence into a mortal form, and the power of his essence caused a citadel with magnificent spires to form out of the crystal rock. In the center of the citadel is a stone book, containing the knowledge of several spells sacred to saradomin. The citadel's highest reaches once housed the homes of Icyene, but it is now occupied by vast armies of vampires. In the center, a barrier stops all those without faith in saradomin from entering. The book holds the secret to the construction of the barriers, the dismissal of lesser vampiral spirits en masse, and many other lost spells. WHY IS THIS QUEST OBSESSED WITH SENDING YOU TO HELLS??? head off to the citadel, fighting your way through a bunch of vampires. be quick, becuase every 5 minutes the spawn faster. when you reach the center, pass through the barrier. vyremages will arrive outside and start pounding the barriers with magic. A pillar will collapse, and you will either have to climb over it (requiring agility) or telegrab the book. Read the book, and you will switch to the ancient Saradomin Spellbook. It has a few normal combat spells (not gonna bother thinking of any) but their are a few that are exceptional- 1)create barrier- Requires lots of catalyctic runes of various types and moderate amounts of each elemental rune. Must be cast by various magicians simultaneously to work. 2)heretic dismissal- dismisses the spirits all on-screen vampires of the lower castes (vyrewatch or bellow) from the mortal world. In certain parts of quests its effect is greater for the sake of plotline. 3)teleports to various cities. teleport to the city you fled to. Talk to the ambassador and the ruler, still in the library. If you want you can heal at the inn again for free. QUEST COMPLETE rewards: saradomin spellbook, 12k magic xp, 8k prayer xp, one 10k xp lamp, access to the resettlement minigame (explained later), ability to shield your mind from vampyre mind reading, and epic quests to follow where you will seize back Luminum and revive the east, before the eastern quest series rejoins the myreque series in the finale (until then, spinoff) RESETTLEMENT MINIGAME remember those abandoned villages? Well now, with the ability to make new barriers, you can get make a new barrier, repair the town, and rule it. The dome covers a little bit of surrounding land, so you can bring seeds from the west to regrow it to woodcut, farm, or anything else you want to use it for. Finally, player owned cities without all the lag that they would normally cause, since each player just sees the city differently- its the same city, but each player can rebuild and see it how he choses. Quest 2 intro- Blue Moon Uprising The blue moon is fast approaching. Its magick is mysteriously tied to that of the barriers. With the corrupted barrier weakened, the eastern warriors can storm luminum. But even with the strange magick of the blue moon, they cannot storm the citadel in the center of the city. Free the ghettos for reinforcements, and help them regain their strength. storm the castle and slay the corrupted archmage and push back the vampires. This opportunity will not come again for thousands of years. start point- talk to the ambassador in the royal library requirements- Desert Treasure, 75 magic, 77 runecrafting, ability to defeat a level 320 mage with a little help ARM YOUR MEN talk to the ambassador in the royal library. He has found yet another archaic book with a reference to the blue moon and red moons being tied to the barriers. For one night, human armies will have an oppurtunity to seize back luminum. The silver weaponry of the highest quality has become rare lately, since it is extremely dangerous to leave the cities to mine it and the other ores needed for the alloy. He wants you to lead the expiditon to prospect ores and erect a barrier over a good site to mine at. Stay there until you or your men smith 300 sets of silver plate armour, 250 silver katana, 50 silver spears, 200 sets of silver chainmail, 200 silver repeating crossbows, and enough ammunition. Your workers will get it done pretty fast (say 15 minutes or so). If you want you can help smith or mine, but if you don't just explore the area. When they are done, just go talk to your second in command, a samuri with a funny eastern name. He will ask you what you would prefer- melee set (katana and armour) or ranged set (repeating crossbow, ammunition, chainmail). Later on you can make a mage set, but the choices are limited for now. the equipment is approximately the equal of adamant Death to the human inva... (vampire scream stops as arrow lodges in throught) head back to the city, and the armor will be distributed. The silver's aura kept the vampyres away during the journey (that much silver burns them from miles away). Now is the time to embed silver in any magical staves, switch to saradomin spellbook, and cross-weave silver into any robes *cutscene* army waiting outside corrupted barrier. Tint of blue spreads to corner of moon. Soon the entire moon is blue. The barrier dissolves, attack begins. Ends with you entering the gates *end cutscene* armed with your choice of silver weaponry, fight your way into the city through hordes of vampyres. You'll find a large ghetto wall, newly built. The gate has several pieces of pure essence embedded in it. Imbue them all, turning them into blood runes (77 runecrafting). The gate can now be opened. Go in, and slay all the vampyres inside. seize the blood tithe management facility just outside the ghetto (little door in wall into it). Do some puzzle and enchant the blood. It vaporizes and the people get their strength back. They'll arm themselves. seize the citadel progess further into the city. vampyres block the way... etc etc. four towers outside the citadel have catapults on top and are slaughtering your forces. Climb up and seize each one. When this is done, a medic will heal you and offer you food. The citadel's gates are also enchanted. They require a heavy blood tithe. either that or break the enchantment using one of the saradomin spells. fight your way up tower, destroy ballistae, kill vampyres. You get the deal by now, right? At the top the corrupted archmage (level 320) is trying to repair the barrier. a cutscene shows the blue moon showing a first hint of white. fight him with a little help (3 level 80's, they don't respawn and will die). He uses blood and smoke spells and will occasionaly attack himself, dealing twice the damage to you. Kill him and.... sorry, quest not complete the ambassador, fully armed, and a few soldiers (full blown samuri. not the recruits who have been most of your help.) will come running up the stairs. *cutscene* barrier falls and the remaining vampyres try to flee. mixed success to say the least- ballistae, archers, and mages make it tough. *cutscene ends* you have to put the barrier back up quickly. go back down to the bottom. You now have to set up ballistae on platforms along the coastline. Fairly easy. now, for a more difficult part- the mages are trying to set up a barrier over the entire nation. You have to join in. takes a while, have to cast certain parts of the spell at cetain times. Runes are supplied. Success gets you a... QUEST COMPLETE 50k combat xp lamp, 20k xp lamp, ability to make advanced silver armour and weaponry(only silver ores from east), ressettlement expansion (more resource areas, but you have to revive them using some new spell), saradomin spellbook expansion, vampires won't be out in the countryside much anymore- after killing off the ones left, the vyrewatch will be replaced with non agressive birds- fit perfectly, since they fly around and can also land and hop around. quest three intro- Drakonian Measures The red moon is fast approaching, and its magick weakens the barriers. Rumors fly across the sea of a massive fleet of vampyre ironclads being built. Fears of a secret weapon of the vampyres paralyze the nation. But amid the chaos, mages who's power rivals that of the archmages of old are emerging. To destroy them so that the barriers cannot be re-erected, Drakan has sent his personal bodygaurd- the Drakonian Gaurd, led by his own son. The lines are drawn. Cities shall burn, warriors shall fall, and the fate of the eastern lands will be decided start point- talk to the admiral in luminum's harbor requirements- completed the resettlement minigame (city restored, cannons, walls, and other defenses made- ex: balistae, catapult, warriors), completed revive the land, 70 smithing, 70 mining, 40 herblore, 68 crafting, 76 prayer, 40 summoning, Dwarve Cannon (quest), and the ability to slay powerful vampyral foes Arming your Ship and The Battle of The Harbor The admiral will confirm the rumors of a new vampyre fleet. Ask what you can do to help. He says that you can captain a ship, but you have to armour it with advanced silver plating and silver cannonballs. Mine the ores and smith them into bars (70 in mining and smithing). each ship requires 5 plates, and each plate takes 4 bars. Cannonballs are the same process as the iron ones. When you're done, board your ship and set sail with the fleet *cutscene* the fleet approaches the myerditch harbor. Right on cue, myreque set off big boom sinking a few moored ships. Fighting starts. Ship battle starts. You can either join in the landing or help in the ship battle. decide, and the cutscene shows the corresponding event *cutscene end* If you stayed in the ship battle, the following happens- vampyres board. These are the elites of the vampyres, the Drakonian gaurd. Nothing you have can hurt them. Lesson learned, abandon ship and swim to shore. Start as you would if you landed. A myreque member will give you some enchanced explosives. Put one on any ship you see. With a few ships destroyed, the Drakonians will land and kill most of your group. *cutscene* retreat to the ships. A mage will try to set up a barrier over your ship, but a Drakonian attacks him. the mage accidentaly casts the barrier around the Drakonian, imprisoning him. finally, a way to stop them. Using this tactic, sail back to the east on the ship. DOOOM!!!! when you return, a cutscene shows you entering the barrier with the vampyres on your tail. when you pass through, they loiter outside and form a blockade. When you dock, an astrologer runs up to your ship, saying that a red moon is approaching. Red moons counteract the barrier magick and all of the historic vampyre invasions have been executed during them. Off to the library again to find some new weaponry to help. browse. lets see... *insert assortement of fail weapons here*. hmm... archaic sword. lets see- take advanced silver Katana, craft hollow into hilt that leads into a groove that goes along near the edge of the blade (68 crafting), enchant saphire in hilt, fill hollow with advanced balance potion (40 herblore). Lets see the effects- blocks vampyre mind games, has unlimited balance potion doses, strength of rune against vampyres, mithril against anything else. Make one. Now for one last little task to prepare for the invasion- head to the starbound citadel again. bring a fewropes, mithril grapeles, crossbow to fire them, and some nails of mithril or higher and a hammer to make spikes to grip. climb to the top. What do you know, your hunch was right. Icyene library of the highest quality. Sadly, you don't read Icyene. So you have to settle for a statue of Saradomin hitting you on the head, whereapon you fall unconcious and get a vision from saradomin. He'll tell you a way to beat the vampyres of the highest cast in melee combat. fairy simple, actually. The problem with the would-be first vampires is that they didn't have enough faith. A high enough prayer level of 76 or so will allow you to subjegate it and use its powers until you dismiss it. Head back to the city and bring the idea before the war council. They OK your plan, but you'll have to be completely restrained during the attempt. (ok, if anyone else has ever read the Bartimaeus trilogy, yes, this is from Ptolemy's Gate). You succeed if you have 76 prayer. If you don't a mage dismisses it for you after a maniacal evil moment. Even if you do succeed, there's a funny internal struggle moment, and the spirit will occaisonly interupt you using your own larynx during dialouge. It is still very usefull, as it increases all your combat stats to 200, increases attack speed, and on top of that spends its time thinking of insults to throw at the enemy as it gives you power. THE FINAL BATTLE The moon turns red, and the barrier falls. Vampyres attack. Armed with your archaic sword, some silver armor, the spirit, and the magick spells, dive into the fray. The wall will break at one point, and you'll have to fight off the vampyres of all castes for a few minutes. Some samuri dude will sound the retreat, and you fall back. hold the citadel. After a while, Drakan's son (level 700 meleer) will arrive, flanked by Drakonian guards. In typical arrogant Drakan style, he simply blows up the gate. Attack him. Your men can handle the Drakonians. He uses melee. He has a sword like yours, and gives the distinct impression he was once human (don't know how Jagex could show that, maybe an examine?). He has a sword like yours, except it sucks blood instead of channeling balance potion. He can't heal off of you, but your men work just fine for that purpose if he hits the deathstroke. Kill him and his guard. A cutscene shows the moon returning to white. Your character dismisses the spirit (you have no choice) without its energy you collapse. When your character wakes up you are in the inn and completely healed. QUEST COMPLETE rewards- three 100k combat lamps, two 50k lamps, final part of saradomin spellbook, can now have more than one resettlement city, chance to learn Icyene to get some backstory, new spells, and new weapons from those books, and the ability to head farther east through the now-restored mountain pass to see all of the eastern lands. For the final quest, the eastern quest series rejoins the myrque series, ending in a battle so epic that I cannot write it down. =) Icyene miniquests Blades of The VampyreComing Soon Wings of the AncientsComing Soon other's suggestions: none yet if anyone would like to suggest any icyene miniquests or saradomin spells, feel free. post away.
