Slaying on a pure

in the process of making my initiate pure, it needs a good bit of work, and loads of quests done, and im slowly chippin away at it all. one of my plans for lvling it was through slayer, getting a fsh and all since the req is only 10def (correct me if im wrong) and i was curious as to what slay master most pures use, and the strats that go along with it. im positive pure slaying involves A LOT of pray pots for protection praying but hey, i love the skill, and the money that comes along with it. just kinda lookin for any tips other people have found usefull. if there is a guide or something somewhere someone can post a link too thatd be awesome too.

I'm not sure about slayer helmet, if its really 10 def (not 40), i would do alot more slayer than i do now.

 

Personally, i just do vannaka and safespot most of my tasks with range, dont have much experience with it so don't take my word for it.

well as far as i know black mask only has a req of 10 def, and from what the slayer lvl thing ingame says, there is no req for slay helm O.o wich is why im asking, cuz like you said, the helm makes slayer a lotttt faster, especialy for a pure with already high combat stats

 

edit: i fail, according to the slayer window, slay helm has only req of smoking kills (but i assume you also need 20str and 10def because of black mask) and a full slay helm requires 20str/range/mage 10def and smoking kills :) so that answers that question atleast

I used to know a 10 defense pure who completely maxed through slayer. Yes, you can use a slayer helm at 10 defense. You would basically just do it how you would on a main, but you'd have to be much more conscientious of your LP, and you'd probably have to use protection prayers on certain tasks while you're lower level.

thanks, i have heard of pures training through slayer, but you know how stories you hear from random people go lol. this is def making me look forward to training the pure, i love slayer :P
