Psx0
I have been having this freezing problem for awhile now. RS seems to freeze at the greatest time of all. It seems to happen while I'm in the TzHaar fight caves. I don't think it really has happened anywhere else in the game either. And now this is the third time in a row where I have been pretty close to fighting Jad (the 702) and then it just has to freeze on me. :( And I've been pretty mad at all the time I've wasted trying to get there. In any case, I've tried closing every program via Windows Task Manager that I possibly can before logging into RS to see if that might help, including my virus scanner and firewall (lol I'm quite desperate I guess). But it doesn't seem to have made much difference and ended up freezing anyways. So at this point I'm not entirely sure what to do next. I consider myself a techinal guy and pretty good with computers and I normally don't ask for technical help, but I'm at my wits end over this as the fire cape has apparently become an obsession for me, heh. And this freezing just needs to stop. :x? Here are some other details that might help in locating the possible problem: Windows XP (SP2) Internet Explorer 6 Microsoft Java VM (this seems to work much better than Sun's VM for RS) I hope someone can help me with this. Has this sort of thing ever happened to anyone else? It's possible that it could be some sort of bug either in Internet Explorer or RS. The reason I say that is because just before I am about to freeze, the music will either stop completely or play one portion of it like a broken record. And then moments later, the game will freeze completely. Internet Explorer will refuse to close at that point and I must restart my computer before I can use IE again. Since the RS music is techinally played from the web page itself via a MIDI file that's stored on the computer, I speculate that it could be an IE bug. Since Jagex has used an tag to play music and Internet Explorer then has to interpret that tag. When in the caves, you get the TzHaar! music playing while you are fighting and when one of the rounds is over, you will hear a short clip of music and then you are back to the TzHaar! music. After about 2 hours of play time and the music switching so often it then usually decides to freeze. I'm guess it could be a memory leak of some sort? I don't really have a clue there as I'm just taking a wild guess with that one. So perhaps I could turn off the music to try to prevent a freeze. I have not yet tried this though as I usually use the end-round music to let me know that the round is over, which is really helpful to me when I encounter the bug where sometimes a monster will just respawn itself after I just killed it. :-\ So anyways, after so much rambling and before I decide to send a message to Jagex, does anyone else have a possible solution to this who may have experienced a similar problem? Thanks in advance.

Psx0
I do have Firefox and use it for every other web site except Runescape because of the fact that Sun's JVM doesn't play very well with RS on my machine apparently. I have gotten quite a few crashes while playing RS on there and got fed up with it and decided to use IE + MS JVM for Runescape only. And I've been happy with that setup ever since with the exception of the fight caves thing. :( But anyways thanks, I guess my only options then are music off or low detail as it does seem to be related to music in some way. I'll be trying this soon when I can manage to go buy YET another crystal bow. (I've spent way too much money and time in doing this already :()
