Piano, bass, or something else...

I"m in a dilemma.

 

 

 

I"m behind in school and have NO time to practice Piano. I"ve been looking at trying bass, but I don't think it would fit. should I do piano, bass, or just stop music for a while.

You're not going to have time to start learning bass guitar if you have no time to practise the piano.

 

 

 

Either make time for the piano or give it a rest for awhile.

I had the same problem. I just set aside 30 minutes every day to play the piano, and sometimes i would get more. Just make sure to set aside hours that wont disturb people sleeping....

If you love it or even like it a little, you should stick with it.

 

 

 

Give up watching tv or reading these forums (hehe :twisted: ) for 30 minutes a day, and practice!

In my opinion, you've got to stick with piano. Once you learn piano, you can apply that musical knowledge to pretty much any instrument. You'll pick up bass in half an hour if you are great at piano.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

However, if you learn bass now, you can't really trasnfer that knowledge to any other instrument.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'd say piano anytime, anyday. And then learn guitar, not bass. After you learn guitar, then learn bass. It's much easier to go from guitar to bass than from bass to guitar - basically bass is the last instrument you want to learn if you're planning on having a large repitoire.
