I recently went into the local music shop trying to find some new bands to listen to, to not much luck. (being a small crappy shop), hoping I can get some recommendations here, At the moment the main favorites I listen to are Anberlin, Dead By April, Janus, Red Jump' App. Wondering if anyone had any recommendations for bands with similar genres.

Mainstream rock isn't exactly my most-listened-to genre, but I feel that Red would be right up your alley. Alternative Rock like the bands you listed, with some symphonic elements thrown in for good measure.

 

 

Also, while they are a bit heavier than the bands you listed, you'd probably enjoy Deftones also. They are more alternative metal, but most of my friends with similar taste to you like them so they're at least worth a shot.
