viper_mod
~Guthans the greats uncovered scrolls part1~ Deep in the heart of the barrows i have recently discovered some scrolls while doing my 100th barrows run. I read through the endless logs of different that occured, and after long studies I have come to the conclusion that in actual fact they are the writings of the so called "Guthan the great". I have re-written the exact copy due to being so old and anicent, the writing is faded and is in a different language known to man. To translate these ancient burial writings i dug up old texts known only to the few elves that live in the woodlands, not seen for many years. After looking for these elves, i offered a sacrifice to them in order to earn their respect and trust. I had to go and slay 'Amigos' the great hill giant from the east, who has ruled over the forest for many years. At lv.190 he was not the easiest monster to slay, but after a long and hard battle he finally fell to the floor. I brang back his bones and his ancient necklace which returned the power to the elf village. They agreed to translate this ancient text which i had with me. It was extremely dusty and had to be treated with care, but they translated the text bit by bit, and it read...... ~End of part 1~Copyright of viper_mod~ NEXT TIME: What did the scroll read? What did it mean? ~Guthan the greats scrolls part2~ PREVIOUSLY: I found some scrolls which turned out to be Guthan the great's. To translate them i found the elves, killed amigos and bought them the sacrifice which retuned power to their village. They translated the text for me and it said..... ~Part 2~ It took quite a few days for the elves to translate the scrolls, because of the fact that it was written in a very, very old elven language. But, after the fourth day, the chieftan summond me to his quarters to give me the translated book. I opened it up, and to my suprise there was not much text. Old elven is a very hard language to learn- it requires a lot of skill and has a very long alphabet. It read: "The new chambers are nearly ready to be put in. There are 3 shafts leading off in each direction. Water is hindering our efforts from the caves below, so now only 2 of the chambers lead to the cave at the end. We hear something stirring beneath us, and we fear the day we will discover something beyond anything anyone has ever seen before." The next bit was too faded to see, but my guesses are this was a few weeks later. "The cross section of one of the tunnels is damaged. If anyone dare to walk under it, i fear it may collapse. Only 1 of the tunnels is now safe. I discovered a slight hole in the ground, but i think nothing of it. The tracks have broken is 3 seperate places. All the trucks have failed to reach us, and now we dread all this may soon be abandoned." "I belive there is a hidden treasure lurking somehwere in the cavities of the ongoing caves. All hope is now abandoned, so our efforts have gone to waste, and now the air is getting thin. We have cleared the area, not all our stuff will be taken with us. Some has been left." ~End of part 2~Copyright of viper_mod~ NEXT TIME: Are the caves still there? and what will be down there? is there a treasure down there? ~Guthan the greats scrolls part3~ PREVIOUSLY: The scrolls have been translated- and they talked about some kind of treasure down the caves leading off the barrows.....but i have never seen any caves, or heard stories of the treasure. Do these caves exist? If so will the rumoured treasure be there? ~Part 3~ Well, obviously all this information took a long time sink in. Well, now my quest was to somehow find this tunnel, and eventually the cave where this ancient treasure was rumoured to be. I talked to the chieftan of the elf camp and he told me to seek "Marilo", the ancient magician who may have the old maps to the barrows. I am told he is located in a small hut near relkka. I went to his hut to see him- he was in there, but he was very ill. He asked me to farm him a "Lanmite" (Pronouned Lan-might) bulb in his farming patch. It was only small, so i dug up the ground to plant my seed. I planted it and went back to him, and told him about the map i was looking for. He told me to cast 'Crumble undead' on the patch, and to my suprise a creature appeared out the patch. It was a 'Map guardian' level 60. It was not too hard to beat, and after i killed it, its spirit flew away. I told Marilo about it, and he explained to me that the map was buried in the ground, and he put a monster there to guard it, so as noone could take it. Because i had done has he wished, he told me to dig on the patch. I took the Lanmite herb and dug, and there was the map!!! All this work, and here it was!!! ~End of part 3~ NEXT TIME: Into the cave....If i could find it ~Guthan the greats scrolls Conclusion~ Extra long feature length conclsuion!! PREVIOUSLY: I managed to find the map for the barrows!!! I found Marilo who had the map and now i have a strange Lanmite herb as well as the original map to the barrows!!! But would anything even be down there? ~Part 4: The finale~ The next step was to travel the long, winding mountain paths over the mountains. I wore as much as i could- the tretchurous mountains were hazardous, many creatures such as ice wolves and even mountain bears roamed through, attacking you in order to get a quick dinner. After I passed over the mountains i trecked through cornfields, marshes, grassy fields until i found the winding paths leading to the barrows. As usual, as i was familiar with them, i dug a hole. I checked my map before entering. It seemed like quite a complicated path- one which i had not followed before. Many monsters came and went. It was hard to run from chamber to chamber, my backpack was weighing me down a lot. It seemed like an endless maze of cavities and tunnels beneath the ground. I must have been through about 7 or 8 different rooms, as well as trecked through about 10 tunnels, all which lead to either a pool of water or a pile of rubble... ~End of section 1~ ~Section 2~ I was wet, cold and very tired. Monsters were trying to batter me, the tunnels were like an endless cravass. I was thinking of quitting, but I noticed some writing engraved on the wall. It read: "Lanmoke piek giurast gjede hallo" Obviously i would of had completely no idea what the inscription read, but luckily i had a rough guide to what it said because of the translation of the scrolls that i found previously....So i knew that it said something like "_____ Holds the ___ to the caves" I couldnt work out what "Lanmoke" or "Gjede" meant. I knew i had to go to somewhere, but then i remembered the herb i go from marilo. That was it! "Lanmoke" must be Lanmite! That must mean that i had to use the Lanmite with something to get to the secret passage! I frantically scrambled about for a use for it. And there it was. How could i of missed it!! A small herb like shaped was carved into the rock beneath my feet. More inscriptions lay next to it. I placed the herb into the carving, and at once the rock shimmered and a clearing slowly started to appear in the rock. I could see Guthans old tracks! and the original spade i read about!!! it was all there, untouched, undisturbed. You see, this tunnel had never been discovered before.. I was the first one. Now i got into the tunnel, i had one last task to finish: Find the treasure.... ~End of section 2~ ~Section 3~ There were 3 paths to choose from; one ended up being blocked (Due to a cave in), 1 was underwater at the end of the path (I couldnt see that far, the paths were pitch black). One, however, lead to a free path, possibly to the treasure i was loking for... I lit a few torches which were on the wall, but they just blew out again. Funny, there seemed to be no air inside the cave. I was having trouble breathing, too....I was out of breath, although i was standing still. I was already prepared, and put on my gas mask. With it on I would last about an hour and a half with no air. I used my Elven torch; The elves gave it to me, and it provides a small pool of light, even in the darkest places. I runs on its own fuel, too; a special eleven fuel, dug up from the elf earth, farmed by only the best. I picked the tunnel furthest from me, because lots of the tools were near there. I could see small metal tracks, where Guthan and his companions would wheel carts along these tracks. When i got to the end of the track, there in front of me stood a block of stone, with a pattern scribbled into it. It looked like some sort of entry code was needed to get through it; and luckily, it was in my language: "Give me food, and I will live; give me water, and I will die. What am I?" I thought for a minute. What could it be? I racked my brains for some kind of answer. Thats it! I shouted. Fire! No sooner had i said the word fire, the door creeped open slowly. It took a minute or so to take in my surroundings. A room was there. A small room, with a man sitting in the middle... Hello? I whispered. 'Hello, brave warrios. What is your name?' 'My name is Gofrick' 'Gofrick. I am Guthan'. Guthan! There he was in person!!! How could he still be alive after all this time? 'Guthan. I come in seek of the treasure buried down here.' 'Yes, yes....I am old, Gofrick, very old... I have been down here for many years.' 'Didnt you leave these tunnels many years ago? The scrolls of yours?' 'Gofrick...I understand you will have many questions to ask. But hear this; Yes, we did decide to leave the caves. Our breathing air was running out and the threat from beneath was ever increasing. I decided to stay here. So i wrote the scrolls, knowing that only the bravest warrior would find them. Only the bravest warriors would go in search of the treasure..only the brainiest would find the elves, and only the kindest would help Marilo.....Yes, I am Marilo....when i heard of you, i had to meet you. I put the map there....i put everything there...I also put a spell on the door to this room, so no ordinary warrior would be able to come through. Now you come, you have proved yourself to be the bravest, kindest, brainiest and the most exceptional warrior ever to be seen. Now one more task lies ahead of you...' Guthan then went on to tell me that there was some kind of monster lurking below the caves, and that it was guarding the treasure. I had to slay this monster- but it could not be killed by a normal man. Only a certain weapon could kill it, and only a certain armour defend against it... ~End of part 3~ ~Part 4: THE FINALE~ I could see the path i had to take even before Guthan told me where it was. A short, narrow winding pathway. I had taken Guthans "Arkshell" armour. It was lightweight, strong and offered the best defence and attack I had ever seen...The path would not let me out...If i died i would simply be teleported back out....I ventured down, and down, and down, until i reached a clearing. Luckily, i saw the Boney skeleton creature before it saw me. I quickly ran towards a rock, searching for cover. The "Skeletal" was lv400!!! I took out the "Arkshell sword". According to Guthan, I had to plunge the sword into its neck, then use an 'Arkback shell' on its neck. I saw my chance. I leaped up onto it, using my amazing agility skills. I plunged my sword deep into its boney neck- for it had no skin, only bones. The monster cried out in pain. I cracked open the Arkback shell and poured the liquid into its broken shell. The liquid had stopped the monster from growing back its body. It was over. A chest had appeared in the middle of the room, near to where i was standing.... I opened it. It wouldnt open. I ran back to Guthan. He was not there. In his place, there was a key. I knew what the key was there for. I opened the chest. Still nothing- then i saw another chest. I opened this chest, and all my armour disappeared- then i received another key. I opened the chest- and the treasure was mine!! I got: An 'Arkshell' A 'Lanmite' herb A Map to the barrows ~Copyright of Viper_mod~ THANKS FOR READING!! archimage_a
Do You really need to have copyright after all the stories by law they are your stories and if anyone sells them they have to pay you...if you find out. But its the same with the Copyright. Its a good story but it just didn't really make sense I suppose. Why would they have constructed a network of tunnels under the barrows? They were all slain and buried in the barrows so... I may be reading to much into the stoy though so... Its a good idea to have a story and then go back and make alternate endings it lets you see a story in full then knowing what happens create a better version. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
