RuneScape Client Desktop Icons

When Jagex changed their game client's desktop icon from a sword to the old new RS logo, I couldn't help but wonder why. It looks so bad, I thought.

 

Then this January they totally changed RuneScape's logo, and yet the icon on their client remains the same.

 

I have waited until now for them to update it, but for some reason they never have.

 

So I don't know if this has been done before (a search didn't find anything, but surely someone else has grown tired of Jagex's travesty of an icon), and, being new to this forum, am really not sure if this belongs here (where else would it belong?), but I decided to create my own desktop icon for the game client based on the new RuneScape logo. It looks so much better, I thought. And this is the only way I can think to end the suffering of anyone else out there whose eyes burst into flames and shoot out of their sockets every time they catch a glimpse of Jagex's icon on their desktop or taskbar.

 

Here it is for anyone who has suffered as much as I have. I would be interested to know what icons others may use, because surely Jagex's has caused sufficient offense to someone other than myself that he, too, could no longer bear it.

 

It comes in two flavors, the first without shadows, and the second with. I find that if you use small or medium icons on Windows the image without the shadow looks sharper, but for people who use large icons the image with the shadow is superior.

If you want to replace the image that appears in the upper left on the title bar, you can replace the file in your client folder with this:
