Farrrrk me. $1500 for a 4800+ x2? That chip costs nearly $1k alone. The rest of the system is pretty crappy though, so they would make their money from the hardware changes you would have to make.

You might also need an OS unless youve already got one you can use.

But if i were you, i would start off with the AMD 3200+ system($790), then upgrade to these things.

-160gb Hard Drive +$70

-1gb RAM +$60

-128mb 6600GT +$135

-16x LG Dual Layer DVD-+RW drive +$40

-Windows XP +$125

-17" LG LCD monitor +$315

Total - $1535.00

So really, after youve changed the hardware specs around, it doesnt really end up being cheaper than building one from scratch.

Another thing is they dont list the brands of things such as the RAM, hard drive and the manufacturer of the video card, so they might just throw in some really cheap name parts into it, which isnt very good and could possibly cause trouble down the road.

So its probably wiser to build it yourself because you know exactly whats going in there, but if your on a tight budget or dont know what your doing, this might be a route to consider.

Just wait and see what others have to say about it though.

Hard Drives are Western Digital. I was going to upgrade the RAM straight off, and then build the rest up gradualy. And i already have XP

So they are. Didnt realise they said they were WD drives. WD are pretty reliable anyway.

So what was your budget on this anyway?

I was gonna buy all the part seperate untill i saw this. Almost exactly he same except for the graphics card. But then i would have to pay a bit more for labour so this is just a it more expencive than what i was looking at, which was $790 with a better card plus whatever they charge to put it together.

I think ill go with this.
