I found this thread very good to make, because i see a lot of guys getting keylogged. So here are a few tips on how to remove them, and stay away from them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tip 1

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Removing the keylogger.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You might think that you are safe when you have Norton Antivirus.

 

 

 

If you think that, you are wrong.

 

 

 

Norton does not remove most of the keyloggers.

 

 

 

If you want protection from Keyloggers, You are best suited by NOD32.

 

 

 

Nod32 is a very unknown Virusscan(Tho some people know it). And removes viruses, spyware, and where this guide is for: Keyloggers.

Install it, (With all the Standard Configurations). And reboot.

 

 

 

When you run it, you come to a Scan Window.

 

 

 

Press Scan and Clean in your language. (Schoon in Dutch).

 

 

 

And let it scan, and IF it finds something. Press Delete in your language(Verwijder in Dutch).

 

 

 

When it is done scanning, you can me (almost) sure that you have no keylogger installed anymore. If you get any errors while Scanning.

 

 

 

Browse to your Eset folder( Most of the times C:\Program Files\ESET)

 

 

 

And reply with the contains of nod32.log.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tip 2

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scamming Websites.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There are websites that offer you a "stat bonus" . Or "A lot of GP in your Bank". These are ALL scamming websites. Cause it is NOT able.

 

 

 

Stay away from those.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tip 3

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Macroing Programs (A.K.A Autominer)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DO NOT, i say DO NOT download them. 90% contains Keyloggers. And dont fall for those stupid lines saying "keylogger free".

 

 

 

IF You are going to the "Dark side of Runescape"(DONT DO IT).

 

 

 

Scan the file at http://virusscan.jotti.org

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tip 4

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MSN and other messaging services.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When you recieve something at your messaging client. Always scan it WHOEVER sends it. Just for you to be safe.

 

 

 

MSN 8.0 Has a built in Virusscan. But it is not reliable. If you want to be safe scan with NOD32 or / and virusscan.jotti.org

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tip 5

 

 

 

Hijackthis

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hijackthis is a wonderful tool made by Merijn.org to detect all kind of keyloggers and spyware. If you really want to be sure you deleted your keylogger, follow these steps.

 

 

 

1: Download Hijackthis from http://www.merijn.org/downloads.html

 

 

 

2: Save it to your Desktop. (Other folders are able, not preferred).

 

 

 

3: Unpack it with Winzip / Winrar / Your unpacking tool. If you do not have one, download one here. http://www.win-rar.com/download.html

 

 

 

4: Run Hijackthis[Caution: ExecutableFile]

 

 

 

5: Press Run a System scan and Save a logfile.

 

 

 

6: In the same folder as Hijackthis[Caution: ExecutableFile] is a file called Hijackthis.log

 

 

 

7:If you are like very personal, PM me with the containings of the logfile

 

 

 

7: If you dont care, reply with containings of the logfile.

 

 

 

8: Wait for reply, via PM or reply on thread.

 

 

 

Tip 6

 

 

 

Online Virus and Spyware scanners.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There are a lot of websites out, where you can scan your computer. Without having a virusscan. Usefull when you had a trial, and you need to install a new one. But need to get rid of the virusses first.

also you would be best off getting the free ad-ware SE on top of your anti virus i would also suggest going into safe mode to delete keyloggers

This guide is not for ad aware. It is designed to remove keyloggers.

 

 

 

And it doesnt matter with NOD32 if you are in safe-mode or not.

 

 

 

NOD32 will still remove it.

its ok it just makes your pc more secure but some keyloggers cannot be removed as they are 'active' and will damage your computer soyou have to boot up in safe mode
