Not getting magic XP when using combat spells

For the past 2-3 days when I use any combat spell on any NPC, I only receive defense and constitution XP, but no magic. WTH? When I use alch or superheat, I get the XP. Any ideas?

Go to "combat settings" and change your xp selection.
