July 26, 20178 yr I'm wanting to make my own runescape-esque rpg. Firstly I want to know if there is an actual formula to the XP table. Secondly, I wanna know if I am allowed can copy Runescapes combat stats into my game and the way they work along with the combat mechanics (choosing to train attack, strength etc) Thanks guys!

July 26, 20178 yr Author Is there a simpler formula? Well does anyone know the answer is my question. Ps people could help with my project and get first dibs at beta
July 27, 20178 yr I'm moving your thread to Help & Advice where it's better suited. The formula Ammako linked is about the simplest you can get it - besides, it's not going to pose a significant challenge for whatever programming language will be cranking it through. As for copying RuneScape's skill ideas, that's more of an open question. RuneScape is protected by copyright and opinions will differ on how much one has to copy to be infringing upon that. You may well get a cease-and-desist order in the mail one day. You could try asking Jagex themselves - not sure if you would get an answer though. I really wouldn't recommend it unless you're prepared for the potential consequences. "Fight for what you believe in, and believe in what you're fighting for." July 27, 20178 yr Author Hm. How do I contact Jagex do you know? Their customer support isn't really great for other issues.
July 27, 20178 yr You could try making an RSOF thread, emailing [email protected], posting on Reddit perhaps..just some ideas, but you're right in that it can be hard to get their attention when you need something.
