March 13, 200620 yr I'm not sure if anyone can help me with this because no one I've asked so far has encountered this before and searches online do not reveal any solutions. Today I tried to use my dvd RW drive to copy some files onto a blank DVD, but whenever I dragged a file into the window, an error message appeared saying that there was an error in copying that particular file. It turns out that my blank disk was displayed as having: Free space: 0 bytes Used space: 0 bytes This has never happened to me before. I tried multiple disks from two brand name manufacturers and encountered the same exact problem. However, when I use a DVD burning software like nero, the blank disks are recognized and can be used to burn entire DVD's. It is only when I try to drag single files directly onto a blank disk that I encounter a problem.
March 13, 200620 yr No current version of Windows has built-in support for DVD burning, which is why you're having to use programs like Nero, DeepBurner, etc, to do it. Having said that, current versions of Nero come with a program called InCD which will allow you to use Windows Explorer as (I assume) you're trying to, although it will only work with rewritable media.
