I have a very serious problem.I have a level 2 clue and I did tourist trap long ago.I have the its mine all mine clue.Where i need to get in and look in the cart.But I dropped the metal key.I tried by attacking the Mercenary Captain.

 

But when I want to attack him the other mercenaries attack me.No one will carry on a talk with me.How do I get the metal key back? I dont want to always have to drop the level 2 clues when I get this one.I hope someone can help me thanks.Have a good night.

I'm a bit fuzzy about it but I remember losing my key at some point. I believe if you go back to the Captain, and talk to him there should be some option in the dialogue about telling him to fight his own battles.
