Well, about half a year ago i bought visual basic professional for my desktop. But i have gotten a new laptop, and have been searchin for the disk and i simply CANNOT find them. So ive decided to go the alternative method, Downloading a copy.

 

 

 

So i downloaded 2 copys, and both had the same error message "You must first rune the install shield". But which file is the install sheild..? Ive tried all i think may be close to it, and null work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now as you can see, the Setup[Caution: Executable File] is right there, but after i choose a directory for the commen files it switches to the acmboot[Caution: Executable File], which thn says

 

"setup is searching for installed components". Then it gives me the error and states that the installation was NOT completed correctly.

 

 

 

Does anyone have any idea?

Was the file you downloaded an .iso image by any chance?

 

 

 

If so, get a program like nero or something that has an option to burn images to disks, select the .iso file and burn it. It should then appear as the install disk for VB in my computer and then you should be able to install it from that disk.

No it wasnt, problem fixed by the way.
