I wouldn't add a background I think it looks better like that, cos the ranger finds your eye better without a background. nice shading. love the ranger, and yeah what is with the arrows? I'd say B+. Things to improve: do something with the arrows like make a pouch for them to sit in. and maybe add an animal or somethin beside him (under the name, cos it looks a bit empty. Pigstein.
