Prologue

The world of Runescape was at its most peaceful times since before the god wars of Zamarok and Saradomin. Peace lay between the towns and countries. Monsters and humans lay in the separate cultures, content with the way things were, with no desire to start one of the biggest wars that would hold the very existence of Runescape in the balance. Little did many of them know, that very war was nearly upon them̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ

Chapter 1

The town of Lumbridge was in a state of disaster. The goblin war had left the town in ruins and many had lost their loved ones and all their belongings to the goblins destruction. The relationship between the goblins on opposite sides of the river had always been not very good, but following the murder of the goblin leader of the east side, the east goblins waged war on the goblins on the west side of the river. What lay between both this sides? The town of Lumbridge. The varrok guards had traveled down to try and prevent the war, but by the time they got there, it was over. The goblins had wiped each other out. Only one goblin was left alive from the both sides, and he was so badly beaten up from the war, he couldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t remember who he was, so still, no one knows who won the war. This however had not yet dawned on the people of Lumbridge and the duke. They did not yet realize that with both sets of goblins gone, no one was left to attack the town. They only cared that their lives had been ripped and torn apart by creatures they had nothing to do with. No one yet knew that just as the last blow of the goblin war was struck, a baby was born to a dying woman in one of the poorest homes in the town. As she gave birth to the boy, she whispered to the priest, with her final breath, who the boys father was, and what his name was. The priest nodded to her and wrapped the baby up in a cloth as his mother died. After the devastation was sorted, no one cared that the woman had died, for she had been a beggar who had arrived at the town about a year ago. No one knew her name, where she came from, or ever found out how she died. The official death count was that she was one of the many who were killed by the goblins. No one but the priest knew that she had been pregnant. No one knew anything about the boy, and no one could have guessed what he would grow up to become̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ

Chapter 2

17 years later

Down the Lumbridge streets, a man walked, cloaked in shadow black robes. He towered above all others who walked the streets, and any that saw him backed away as fast as they could. This man gave an impression that he would kill if you got in his way, and that he wouldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t care less if you were dead or not. His destination was clear. He was headed to the church. The baby boy had grown. He was now a towering lad of seventeen, who had the sort of body and face which made you think that this was not a person you would want to mess with. He has a sharp, stern face and the muscles that made him look like he could pick a grown man up with one hand and throw him about thirty feet through the air. This all added up to make him the person that many had offered an apprenticeship, but all offers he received were turned down. The only job he took up was for the elderly priest who had raised him since his mother had died. This was the only person in the world he cared about, and he did anything he could to make life easier for him, but he was starting to suspect that the old priest was dying. He was paler than usual, he barely had the strength to walk, and he could barely find the power to speak. The boy sat by his bed as the old man slept, his eyes searching through a book for any mention of an herb, spell or potion that might help the man he loved as a father. Finding nothing that would help, he slammed the book shut, and the priest opened his eyes. Immediately, the boy went to his side and started to apologize for waking him, but the old man held up his hand for silence. He told the boy he was dying. The boy opened his mouth to speak, but he cut across him. He explained that he had known that he would die soon and that he didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t want to live, that he had lived his share. He told the boy many things; the most important was the boy̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s name, Lucas. He told Lucas that he most travel north to the city of varrok, where he must find work. He told him not to dwell on his death, but to plough forward with his own life, that he needed to learn all he could. When Lucas asked why, the priest said that he would learn soon enough. He gave Lucas a moneybag to get him started, and recommended that the first thing Lucas should do in Varrok, is to find the palace librarian, Reldo, and ask him for help from priest Max. He told the boy that Reldo would help him to discover about his mother and father. He was telling Lucas to not go by Stonehenge circle by the south wall of Varrok, when he stopped talking abruptly, smiled at Lucas, then died. The next day, the boy no one knew anything about left the town of Lumbridge in secret. In the dead of night, he snuck over the bridge by the river, but he had no idea, that someone was watching him. The dark figure, a gleam where his eyes should have been crept along the bridge and followed Lucas.

Chapter 3

The days new light hit the world as one of the most famous days ever came. The day was Sunday, 25th September, and it was Christmas. Everyone burst out of there homes to roll in the snow that covered the land but for one place. The town of Al Kharid in the desert was untouched by snow. After all, the normal temperature for winter was around 25̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢C, which for most places, was summer heat. Lucas was in the upstairs bed of the Scimitar shop of Al Kharid, and the sun, flashing through the windows, woke him. He mourned, as this was the day that he and his old mentor, Max, had enjoyed the most together. He thought of what had happened since he had been there last. He had left the town across the river and made his way north. His strength ran out as giant spiders were along this route and he always had to climb a tree to hide from them.

Another runescape war story. I would suggest writing about something not as popular but if you really like war stories make sure you use many details. Also before you post make sure you spell check. One last thing I don't think Christmas is in September.
