Go train slayer, it is the best way to get your skills up. Go pick a slayer master, then go train. They pick monsters that are around your level w/o using too much food on.

I do have a b-axe, but it would take me a while to get on. I can't get on right now. But you should try and melee the monster he gives you, and if that doesn't work, go pick a different skill. Or you can use burthrope and those should all be monsters you could kill.

how do i pick guys i have a slayer master already (vannaka) can i switch to easier?

It doesn't matter which slayer master the gem says. He is the one that would give the monsters that you would struggle a little on but still be able to do fine. You can pick any of them that are below the suggested one.
