any other ideas...anybody?

you should do this. Look for a cheap item that has a very large range of price. Eg. Tossed salad is sold for 100gp each to 200gp each (not a real item). Although alot of people sell tossed salad, 'Angry Soccer Moms' sell for 1k each to 3k each and can make a much larger profit (about 250k more if you spend all 250k). Don't just look for a large range in prices, make sure that the information is correct by going in game and observing the market... Try to find out, how many people actuall buy/sell Angry Soccer Moms. If the Angry Soccer Mom market isnt large or even existant then you will need to find another item to merchant with. Hope I could help... Hope you can understand this mess :boohoo:
