This is the first thing I've made only using photoshop (made 2 things before this with just text and filter to get acquainted to the program). I used only brushes (and it shows :oops: ) Anyways.. I'd like for tips\advice on how to improve at photoshop..making pictures and things..not sigs like the abstract things on this board ( I get VERY tired of that stuff..) , but more along the lines of old-school art. :? Sir-Carson Posted June 27, 2004 Share Posted June 27, 2004 mostly for abrstract sigs you have to play aorund with it hoping and praying it comes out good thats wat lots of people do some good tutorials are at http://www.good-tutorials.com and photoshopcafe.com ill give ya 2 tutorials right now nto very detailed create new document take about 3 different brushs one white and scribble around dont cover up to much then go to distort>polar coordinates and either choose to rectangular or to polar watever the other option is then go to blur>gausiian blur and blur it with a radius of about 1 then go to blur>radial blur then choose zooom best and about 85% and move the center of the grid looking thign around and make a couple more layers playing around with the filters like that and for some on the layers palllete change the opactiy(clearnees 0%=completly see through) and a text tutorial when your putting text too sign your sigs pick a font thats smooth and not liek jerky hope you know what i mean and write your text then click the f at the layers pallete and go to stroke change the size to 1 or 2 and change the colors around a lil bit and lower the opacity to like 70 and mess aroudn a little bit more witht the settings if you want (sorry for all the typos that im sure i made) the reason i say mess with the filters and stuff is thats how i learned but if your going for a ceartain thing for example crystals or scan lines and your not sure and you dont want to mess up wat you have then a tutorial would be good Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I meant I HATE those abstract sigs that appear so commonly on these boards...Most of them totally lost sight of INNOVATION which is very important.
