  1. Can some mod check this out to make sure its safe, before I try downloading it? The title got my attention lol
  2. I dunno, I don't ever see adds, I used noscript for firefox. What I did notice though, sometimes firefox would go up to 100% on some pages, like there was an error processing one of the scripts. I never had this playing runescape (when I used to be f2p and have adds), but maybe there is a bad add in there somewhere that conflicts with firefox or IE? Perhaps you need to check for updates on your system and browser? Alternatively, use noscript plugin :D
  3. There are adds on the front pages though, right? Maybe he meant one of those?
  4. I use noscript plugin for firefox, works great for just about everything :D
  5. My advice would be to first off, make a good plan of exactly what you are going to say. Don't even bother writing a word until you have a full plan done. Research the person you are writing. Have they been in the forces, what achievments do they have? What do you know about this person thats relevant, do they have any passions concerning their job that you agree with or feel strongly about? You need to have a valid reason for writing to them, somthing honest and real. No need to write much on this, just make sure you have somthing. Throughout, try to use patriotic and passionate language, without going overboard or like you are making it up. Be true to yourself in what you write, about how you want to serve your country, how much it means to you. Maybe add in a little about your past, any reasons that made you choose this path. Then about the future, what you hope to achieve, what you hope to give your country. I would say at each point, you have to ask yourself, "why" and "is this really me?". Don't forget, this person doesn't have a clue who you are, so your words have to mean a lot. Avoid using words that overly descriptive, and of course, get people to check and double check your literacy. Don't be afraid of taking constructive criticsm from these people either! Finally, try to add in things you have achieved in your life already, things that you are proud of. Make yourself proud without sounding cocky or arrogant, and thats really a hard thing to do. Hope these ideas help :)
  6. It happens all the time to many people, power surgers, ISP problems, parents pulling the power cable out  You lost relatively nothing, I am yet to die this way, but I am sure it won't be long 8)
  7. Have dragons drop progressively more teeth the harder the dragon is. This way, there might be some use for the really high fletching levels which would be required to make these dragon arrows. Also, have the shafts made out of magic logs or somthing, and the feathers made from firebirds feathers (change the drop rate of them to 5 instead of one, still need ice gloves). This way, there would be 3 relatively difficult componants to making the dragon arrows. I totaly love this idea and although am quite low in range and so would end up being on the end of these arrows, I like the idea of making them :D Great idea!
  8. I really hate it when people do this. I guess I just suck terribly at making money, but I would of killed (literaly, on RS) for that blue phat. Some people are just very talented at making money, I work, hours and hours, literly wasting my entire summer holiday and for what? To watch someoen just high alch more than I may ever hold in my bank account. Famous? No, infamous, yes. Good job you're quiting lol (semi joke post, partly serious, I do suck at making money)
  9. You have my vote Oh and, team capes for everyone :)
  10. Very cool idea, although perhaps a little over complicated. A slightly dumbed down version of this though could fairly easily, and positively affect the combat system. Oh wait, this is where the mages and rangers would complain like crazy because they would see it as being outdone. If this kind of thing would be done, I would say rangers as well should be able to refine their bows. I had a similar idea where you could "wear a weapon in" (or armour) and make minor modifications to them, nothing quite as detailed as this though.
  11. Papickett, after reading your post I don't quite have the time left to read every response before responding. Firstly, great post. Most notably for, "I see through the marketing rubbish". Sony, MS, Nintendo, they all do it, they all tell porkies to the best of their ability. If they think they can get away with it, they will do it. The trick is, which you have showed here quite well, is picking apart this, "information" and deciding for yourself what bits are true and which bits are not. Personally, I think Sony have their hands full with MS. MS have proven with the xBox, (somthing I do not own), that they have the financial and market know-how, to produce a top quality system with a lot of support. Nintendo and Sega have never been able to compete toe to toe like this. I won't get into an argument over which console is the best or which next gen-console will be the best, only time and personal preference will tell. As for your essay practice: I have had to do a lot of proof reading for other peoples essays at degree level. I thought you wrote a compelling argument, that was easy to read and made good sense mose. However, I do think you should not of been so "one-sided". Some peoeple consider this to be a good essay when you really passsionatly argue a case, but technicaly, it is better I believe, to add elements of suspician and question the other side as well as your own points of view. Lastly, references would of been nice :P Thanks for the good read.
  12. I thought the topic title was going to indicate a really good idea (somthing similar to what I had thought about)... I just don't think this is really going to work, basicaly because you are basing things around combat level. This is a terrible mistake to make. I had thought before about having sort of newbie world (think tutorial island on a larger scale)... where you would have to "graduate" to a certain total level and then complete a moderatly difficult random quest to be able to play on all the other servers. This isn't suggested as a punishment, or neo natzi approach to RS (like, oh I can't stand noobs, send them off to noob land)... it's meant more to do with a learning environment that would help the new players become more knowledgeable and so help out the entire community. I didn't think this was entirely practical considering how RS is structured, so never suggested it.
  13. I know, this is the second thread I wish I never made. Not showing my newbieness here at all lol :( Can someone delete this for me? lol
  14. Oooh ok  I don't know why I never tried that. Thanks lol, no need for bins now lol
  15. It's more to do with the volume of clicking. If I am cooking 100 Tuna (well, no if's, I am), for training, thats 200 clicks just on the range. I'm burning about half of them right now  so that's another 100 clicks on top if I drop them there and then. So to save time, my fingers and my mouse, I nip into the bank and use store all, which is just 2 clicks per cooking trip to ditch my burnt fish (in the bank). Of course this would be a whole lot simpler and easier with a drop all command. But seeing as they have refused to implement such a simple and useful tool (unless they have and I missed it, god hope that isn't the case lol), I thought I would do a bit of outside the box thinking to solve the problem.
