Sir Hinton's Return to Greatness

Well first post on these boards since scapeboard (many who remember that? ;) ), so big hi to everyone.

This is what greeted me when I logged in just:

So lets just say yea, it's been a while. Most of my stats on this account were gained on runescape classic, which I continued to play mainly when the current Runescape was introduced. I do have some pictures hidden away which I will post at a later date for anyone interested.

My current, and starting stats for this blog are as so:

with next to no items in my bank.

As of now, I have pretty much no clue about any of the updates from the past year, but have been on before then on a different account. That leaves me with a load of new updates that I need to get to grips with and find out about, one big one being the new Summoning skill. Anyone who can clue me up on which of the 'new' quests are worth doing, it would be greatly appreciated!

One of the main things I'd like to add with this account, is that I shall be earning everything directly myself, ie I will not buy a drag med (etc), but aim to get one as a drop, as I feel this greatly adds to the enjoyment, for me. And this will be the same for all semi-rare gainable items; dragon items, treasure trail items, rare items, mage training arena items etc etc. I will aim to gain all treasure trail items myself, and any multiples shall be sold and money spent on raising skills or on rare's which cannot be gained via drops etc, ie Santa hats and masks.

Well, there it is for now. Not much, but a start. I will add some short term goals as I figure out where I will be initially headed, and using this blog as a record as to how I'm doing, and what I have left.

I think my first goal will be to gain some pocket money and begin sorting my bank out. A few clues should help to get some rune/black dragonhide armour back.. ;)

Basically, the only newish quests which are worth doing for major rewards (In my opinion) - Desert Treasure (Unlocks a bunch of new really strong combat spells.) Lunar Diplomacy (Lots of new skill based spells, but only really good at higher magic levels.) Fremmenink Isles is worth doing, for the nice little helmet you get. Also do Wolf Whistle, that unlocks the Summoning skill. Also do Smoking Kills, as this expands on the Slayer skill.

Along with the updates since you have been gone there has not only been Summoning, but Slayer, Farming, Construction, and Hunter. Slayer, is the most weird one. When they released it they released a bunch o' new slayer monsters, which require a certain slayer level to kill. In order to get your slayer level up, you go to a slayer master (One in Buthorpe (Easiest) One in Canafis (Easier) One in Edgeville Dungeon (Middle) One in Zanaris (Hard) One in Polivineach (Hard) One in Shilo Village (Hardest.) These give you a task, like 100 fire giants, so then you go off and kill 100 fire giants, and you will recieve a set amount of slayer exp for everyone of those monsters you kill.

Farming, basically you just farm 'tings. Construction is probably the most expensive skill around, where you get to build your own player owned house with all kinds of stuff in it. Really useful once you get past level 50 for Portal Rooms and Chapels. Hunter, you go out and hunt animals in order to get something from them. Such as skin to make clothes or there is even one that when you hunt it, you can then use it as a ranged weapon.

Big thanks for the advice, It's only the past year I've been away from RS though. I've played since the slayer skill has been out and all that, just not on this account. Like I say, the past year however I haven't been on at all, so summoning and any new quest or update like bounty hounter I'm clueless about.

As for how Runescape has been going, you need a lot of people's opinion, I for one think its better now, with the new skills and such.
