milestone cape

(0 reviews)

During my holiday(vacation?) I had a lot of time to scape. Which was nice. And fun. All that time to be on revived a longstanding goal of mine: that of the next milestone cape. I already was the proud owner of a 80-milestone cape, so the 90-milestone cape was obviously next in line.

When I decided to go for it, I had mining, smithing, thieving, hunter, attack, strength and defence to get to level 90. I figured the melee skills would eventually just level-up with regular slaying, after all, I had mining and smithing and those two would take a lot of time to get to 90. And I had thieving and hunter too, another two skill I wasn't particularly fond of. But, I had vacation so I could try to get as far as reasonably possible (I wanted to enjoy some holiday in meatspace too obviously).

So I started living-rock-caverning.

And then Priffdinnas came out.

With Seren stones.

Wow, that expee! I loved it immediately and godbannered to 89 mining to be able to mine them. Pretty soon I didn't need godbannering anymore because I was a level 89, and I hit the 90 with easy. Mining serenstones felt like runespan for mining. Miningspan. Minespan. Something like that. Very nice and afkable, and my rsi-arm likes afkable things. It also gave me a very nice amount of corrupted ore, which was enough to get smithing up to level 90. Two skills out of the way, and a lot sooner than expected too.

I now had thieving, hunter and melee skills left.

So I grabbed a desert amulet, teleported to Nardah and ran to Sophanem to do some pyramid plunder. I played the occasional game of plunder for a daily challenge every now and then, but never seriously plundered for a longer time. But plunder was great expee, and that made it the best choice for me.

I started to actually like plunder, although all that clicking made my mouse-arm definitely hate that game. I needed a lot of breaks. When I hit 89 thieving, I godbannered to 91 and pickpocketed Iorwerth-elves for a break. Until I got three crossmarks and wasn't able to pickpocket them for 20 minutes; I would go back to plunder at that moment. Patience and determination eventually got me 90 thieving. Four skills left.

Since I am not much of combat-person, I decided to do hunter first. Tip.it has these lovely calculators that give you all huntable beasties in a nice list. Using the calculator and the skill guide, I decided that I would play big chinchompa four times a day and use up my daily d&dtokens. Aside from that I would do some barehanded butterfly catching, because the guide said that Oog'log mudbath gave a big hunterboost. So I hunted moth and snowy knights for a couple of days. And got 90 hunter.

That left only melee skills,. and I am not much of a combatter, and even less melee. I tend to want to mage my way through slayerassignments. Howver, Cauldron is known for giving nice expee, and I found I sort of liked the fight Cauldron. One big reason why, is that it's safe, so I wouldn't lose any gear.

I would cauldron those skills.

Of course, stubbornly persistiing and patiently pushing on, I got my 90 defence, 90 attack (yay drygores!) and 90 strength. And a beautiful 90-milestonecape. Needless to say I adjusted my outfit immediately to match the cape. Because fashionscape, right?

I think I won't be doing Fight Cauldron for quite a while though...

P.S.: 90 thieving and 90 hunter made me unlock The Convict and The Trapper at the player owned port. That means I now have all adventurers unlocked, an achievement that makes me very proud.
