It happened to me after I was logged in for 7 hours straight.. Could've been 6 hours. But it does happen. House party with open gilded altar ;)

He got 17m range xp, than took the xp that you need for 99 range and subtracted that from 17m. Than, with that current number, he was 6725 from 87 range. So in essence, he got 99 range, and 87 range in experience.
