  1. Well, HP told me to do the same thing... recover my system to default factory settings. HP laptops (atleast these days) come with recovery discs AND a recovery partition on the harddrive. I've tried both recovering from discs and from the HD, but nothing worked. The problem is, it didn't come with the computer. Logic says that it won't be in the recovery discs/recovery partition. And it seems it wasn't :( I guess I'll just continue to keep chattin' with HP help/support through email.
  2. I'll get right to the point, I've been emailing HP tech support back and forth, and I just can't get my S-video output on my brandnew laptop to work. apparently a program called HP TV Now (hptvnow[Caution: Executable File]) controls the output to tv. Apparently it's supposed to come with every HP laptop (with an s-video output). It didn't with mine. Tech support told me if I did a complete factory restore with my restore disc, it should install it. It didn't. I came here because i didn't know where else to go. I've tried the software/drivers section on the HP.com site, google searching for HP TV Now, asking tech support, restoring my computer to factory settings. Nothing has worked, and I can't find a download or install. If anyone here has an HP laptop, please check your "C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard". If you have a folder called HB TV Now (or something similar) it would be greatly, greatly appreciated if you could create a zip or rar and send it to me at (email removed for security reasons), or post it on a free file host or somewhere. I've been trying to get this to work for days now. Thankyou
