  1. Thanks ligor really appreciate the comment, felt the statistics were needed for a guide like this and I've got a mathematical mind so it helps me to see data organized like that too. Glad to hear your trips are going better ranger keep it up. Thanks to everyone for the comments, btw just added statistics for barraging to the guide so check it out if your interested

  2. 1. Abby Demons - Definitely my favorite 85 slayer was a goal of mine since I got members and found the skill so I have to put these first.

    2. Rock Lobsters - Awesome charm drops, great way to get mage and summoning experience.

    3. Dagannoth - Favorite slayer task very good experience.

    4. Spirit Mages - Love getting d boot drops while on a trip to GWD.

    5. Tormented Demons - Gotta give some love to these, got me a d claws drop with in 100 kills.

  3. Ooh a topic I know a lot about, bursting costs less per spell is less experience per spell but you get far more charms for the money that you spend. Barraging is faster charms and more experience per hour but you will spend more money per charm using barrage. So basically it's your choice whether you want to go for the spell thats faster or the spell thats cheaper. Btw check out my guide, link is in my sig.

  4. The Big Bang theory explains why the universe is expanding as it is. It's not how scientists claim the universe was created.

So far, with what we know, the only thing we can assume is that there was a dimensionless point that housed all matter, all energy, all time, and all space. And that it was always there.

It did not come from nothing. It was forever there.

Well, actually, our universe might be going in a bang/crunch cycle. I'm not entirely sure about the physics behind it, and I might be wrong, but I believe that gravitational forces will eventually overwhelm the outward forces gained from the initial explosion. After this, parts of the universe will actually begin to retract, and collapse once more into a singularity.

Anyway. The only thing difficult to wrap our heads around is this: if all of our universe was a singularity, what laid beyond it?

The answer is, of course, nothing. But we cannot even begin to fathom that concept yet.

(Which is a reason why religion exists in the first place.)

EDIT: By the way, isn't it impossible for our Universe to have a 'beginning'? The Universe isn't contained within Time, Time is contained within it. This effectively means that the Universe never happened, while simultaneously meaning it is always there.

For the universe to crunch the density of the universe would have to be greater than the critical density of the universe which would then eventually cause the expansion to stop and it to a form somewhat like it 'began'. The other case is that the density of the universe is less than or equal to the critical density in which the expansion will slow down but continue forever. I feel the second is more like because our best efforts to calculate the density of the universe currently are barely 1/3 of the of the critical density and includes counting dark matter and energy I believe. Either way predicts the end of any life in the universe sometime far in the future so I guess it really doesn't matter too much to us anyway.

    What exactly is critical density?

It is the limit of the density of the universe where it goes from being ever expanding to crunching in on itself. It is measured to be about 2 × 10-26 kg/m3. Basically if there is so much matter that the density of the universe is greater then this number the universe will eventually collapse in on itself but if there is not enough matter and the density of the universe is less then this number the universe will forever expand.

  6. From the origin of the universe to the dawn of man on earth there are scientific theories to support the creation of it all. The one thing we do not know is what set off the infinitely hot and dense point that was the universe some 14 billion years ago into the universe as we know it today. Now you can argue the validity of many of the theories proposed to described what happened along this time line but you cannot deny that that the universe is this old, proven by general relativity along with things such as the temperature of the cosmic microwave background. One also cannot argue that the universe is expanding in all directions and this shows that it was at once smaller then it is now and as stated before was most likely at one time a point of infinite density and temperature. This moment 14 billion years ago is the moment that in my mind the possibility of a god exists. There has to be some reason why the universe was set into the motion that comes to beings such as us existing. Why not a creator of a higher power setting this in motion? A question we will probably never answer and I almost hope that we never do because the world is probably better off not knowing. Would anything really change if you new the answer to a question such as is god real? Better to just leave it in mystery and let each individuals decide for themselves in my opinion.

  7. How do you make the trips last so long? I tried a few days back and used half of the p pots I had for only 500 casts :(

Its just getting experienced with luring. Dont pray on the first three. Stop praying after the dag trap and if you have a distance between you and the rock lobs. You should use 3-6 ppots per lure when you get used to it.

Think he meant Prayer Points not ppots but yea basically what he said. Only prayer when necessary, it just takes a little time to get the routine down. You'll figure it out eventually, also you could switch to a veracs skirt when luring to boost you prayer bonus but this will make your character heavier therefore sacrificing some energy so it's up to you.

  8. You want to have at least 750k in the coffers at all times otherwise the workers will not work at full speed. So unless you feel like checking it everyday I would keep at least a mill in there. Generally I put 1.5m in there then I will check it once a week and fill it back up to 1.5m while I'm there.

  9. Another piece of equipment you might consider bringing in inventory (or as shield slot) is the falador diary reward shield to save even more prayer potions. Since I find it hard to burst for a long time per day, this extra 99 points of prayer (translates to a 3 dose prayer potion) each day would be excellent in prolonging my trip and thus more charms per trip.

Gotta have 99 prayer to get 99 points from it, but it might not be a terrible option. I'll look into it, haven't actually finished the diary yet.

  10. Here you go, Andy, as promised :D

    (Trip 1)

1,332 Ice Barrage Casts (69264 XP)

89 Blood Barrage Casts (4539 XP)

    +169,635 HP XP

+243,509 Magic XP (Not counting the subtraction of the XP gained from casting.)

    +127,340 Defense XP

Now if I had casted on full magic (which doesn't make sense for me, since I am 99 magic but not 99 defense) I would have gained 370,849 magic XP. With Ice Barrages costing 1,800 each, and Blood Barrages costing 2,598 each, that's a total of 2,628,822 GP for 370,849 magic XP, which works out to ~7.09 GP/XP.

Keep in mind though that I am 99 magic, so the GP/XP figure will be a little bit higher. That also is not counting all the charms you will be getting :P

    I got

    432 Crimsons

    119 Green

    14 Blue

    276 Greens

for a total of 324 Crims/1k Barrages. This is not a *great* value and I hope it will improve over time. I also hope I can get more casts in per trip, as this was my first serious attempt at luring all 9 lobsters. I think I'll be able to stay for longer next time, as I ran out of prayer potions and thus had to teleport. I'm going to be bringing proselyte top for luring which I believe will help out greatly. I'll report back with more figures later!

Awesome thanks man been waiting on this data, I'll start working on a barraging section soon charms per 1k casts that you got seems pretty good, I've never barraged so I guess I wouldn't know. Thanks again

  11. One question too: Do you have any problems on lobs becoming unagressive, or not really following? How far should I run to make them agressive again?

    Thanks

Thanks for the tips I appreciate it, as for the lobs becoming unaggressive I have noticed this happening occasionally but generally it's only every other trip or so. When it happens I will just run up the ladder and go back past the melee dags there then come back down the ladder and they should be agro again.

  12. As you may, or may not... know, I run tips summoning guide... I was wondering if I could link your guide, as I havn't written a rock lobster guide yet, and don't think I will be any time soon. Alpha's guide got deleted, so I need a new one.

    Thanks.

Go right ahead, btw I've seen your guide and its very good :)

  13. I noticed that you don't factor in the drops you get when you calculated the cost per charm. In many of your trips you have over 100k of loot (10% of the cost of spells) so it would be more like 3.6k per charm, not 4k.

I felt the cost of p pots and the money gained from drops kinda balanced each other out so I decided to leave them out of the calculations. Might go back and add them in sometime to see if it really changes anything but i doubt it will have a significant effect on the data.

  14. Fighting familiars are really distracting when luring, i don't suggest them after expirementing (or in fact i used just terrorbird for energyrestoring and extra prayer pots) :P

But one thing i wonder.. why to lure those meleedagannoths to stuck when you can easily kill them too in your main bursting spot. It works for them as well and give you more xp per spell.

You can only attack 9 monsters at a time in Runescape, so trapping the dags allows you to hit all 9 lobs with each spell. If you brought the dags with you the spell would hit them rather then the lobs leaving 2-3 lobs left after the other 5-6 lobs and 2-3 dags are dead. Killing these last 2-3 lobs with more casts gives horrible exp and would be very ineffective to your bursting. Also the safe spot does not work for the dags (at least form what I've seen).
