  1. Currently, there are several furnaces on the guide that are said to be some of the best for smithing; Al Kharid and Port Phastymys are examples. However, the Edgeville furnace also counts as one of these. The walking distance between the furnace and bank is very short; certainly shorter than Port Phastmys. Also, there are no doors to hinder you as you smith. So I recommend editing the Edgeville furnace entry in the Smithing Guide to the following: Edgeville Members only. One of the most convenient bank-furnace towns in the game. This furnace can only be accessed by wearing a piece of the Varrock armour obtained by completing any difficulty level in the Varrock Achievement Diary. Since the Varrock Armour offers a chance of smelting two bars at once (see Smithing Aids below), this is arguably the most efficient furnace in the game.
  2. I was really, really lucky; as I walked from Lumbridge to Varrock (a huge navigational feat by the way, you obsessive teleporters should try it sometime :P), a very, very kind level 60 called Eggterminato gave me full bronze (he was smithing in the Varr smithy), and a few GP. Chuffed, I walked quite happily into Varrock, taking in all the pretty RSC graphics. Then I went farther North. And farther. Until I went to level 10 wildy, and my poor level 3 character got killed not by a vicious PKer...but by a giant. I didn't touch the Wildy for over a year, and until 6 months ago, I killed giants for GP. The drag scim was so different from the bronze longsword, and boy, did those guys know it. Another memory: I got a steel med from a guard, and it was my combat helmet for nearly four months. I lost it to a werewolf near the Fremmy lands after it was released.
  3. The demon is virtually invulnerable to magic; saradomin strike barely touched the damned thing. I didn't try ranged; when my runes ran out, off went the mystic and on went the rune. :) The honest to god best option (in my opinion) is to simply leg it for the outside, and stay well away from it. The gnomes help take up the slack, although you have to run in occasionally to check its HP (the thing is HUGE). When he gets to a tiny fraction of his health, run in with Protect from Magic and one finger on your food. He hits 30s regularly, so your food can run out damned fast.
  4. This is from the other side of the spectrum of noobiness... I was in good old Castle Wars with my mage gear (only chaos runes and blue wizard :() and lvl 67. About midway during the game a level 80 something climbed a rope, kindly deposed of a level 37 in a few seconds and whipped me. Cheeky bugger. Full Health: Him:haha noob pwnage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 75% Health, hes whipped me a 5: Him:lucky noob Half Health, he hits me with a 8: Him:take that you cheatin n00b Nearly Dead, I'm bouncing on half health: Him:wtf reported Him:bet u dont even hav decent melee I deliver my final death blow with a d scimmy, wearing full rune and a warrior helm.

What made this all the more funny was that I was ectoing D Bones at the time. :D Also, a spot of advice for members; never, ever, ever, ever, ever even dream of going onto World 1 in Varrock. Ever. Period. I had plenty of offers for my addy b axe, don't get me wrong...100 normal logs, bronze longs, stuff like that... My new nickname for World 1 Varrock:Noobland. And it's infectious. Be careful!
