100% agree with that and I infact *do* support gay rights and I know a few homosexuals although thats not exactly what this thread is about it does relate.

When I was asked by my parents if I was going to complete my last year at highschool I was playing Rs and decided not to go back simply because I wanted some quiet to get back to my game. :?

Yea I certainly don't want the thread to turn down that kind of road with the peoples opinions of life choices. I'm just stating the facts and a bit of background info.

Everyone who plays should have that knowldge aswell that Life is much more then any game could ever be. But when you begin to get the two mixed up.. that is where things seem to go wrong.

I agree with that and I can't tell you why exactly I play the game.. but I do and yes it's fun. The time spent playing could be much better spent on something else I know.

This has been playing on my mind since the beginning of my Scape adventures nearly 5 years ago, Is playing Runescape taboo? Now before you start I guess I should give you some information about myself. Well I'm 19, I'm Aussie!! woo woo! I'm a guy..? I'm a second year Electrical Mechanic apprentice and I love my job heaps. Keeping fit is pretty important to me and I ride my bike or jog at least 5 hours a week and I'm also heaps into Downhill Mountain Biking at the moment, DH 4 Life? I enjoy an ice cold brew with my mates and hanging out with the ladies :thumbsup: haha. [hide=My story..]Well I would have to put it down to my younger brother. He was the person who got me into the game in the first place. I decided to join up and play the game with him aswell and you know what? I was hooked! Bad. When I first started the computer would be on for 3+ hours a night even if I had homework to do. Not too long after me starting, he quit. Not only did he quit, he also had it in his mind that the game was stupid/nerdy/waste of time etc and he would make it known to other people that I now played and what a (insert various abusive words) I was for playing the game. Now not only did I get a bit of smack talk for it but it also made my grades fall pretty badly. I know this was my decision but it still makes me feel like an idiot for doing it. In a sense I have to thank Jagex for making the game and getting me to play it. My reasons for this are that while I played the game for a few hours a night, a lot of people I knew were getting into all sorts of things like drinking/drugs/sex/fighting (not that I have a problem with sex or drinking now..) and they started going down the wrong sorts of tracks in life. These actions made a lot of people get into a lot of trouble and life threatening situations that I wouldn't have thought a 15/16/17 year old should be going through. I was stuck inside glued to the screen and in a way I'm thankful for this because while some people got involved with the wrong crown and changed character, I was safe and well. Now that I'm a bit more grown up, I'd have to say that I am exactly who I wanted to be and everything seems to have worked itself out now. My family and friends are non the wiser that a lot of it is down to me playing the game. I still feel somewhat weird for playing Rs now..[/hide] What do you think? Is Scape something people don't like openly talking about? Tell me what you think. Share your stories, everyone has one and I want to hear about it.

Work smart *Not* hard. If you plan your time and organise things well you don't need to play nearly as much as a lot of people may think. Take me for example - currently 27.55m experience in slayer and started when i joined Runescape mid way through 2005. I don't play more then an hour or two per night. I'm going on 19, have a full time job working 40-50 hours a week and I *always make time* for family and or friends. The time that i have playing I make sure its not spent sitting around in a bank chatting or dilly-daddling. Whats a nerd anyway? I don't live in a basement and if it's related to sitting down in front of the box all the time.. you'll find that I'm fit and healthy. I'm not the smartest cookie in the jar I admit but on the otherhand I'm no drongo.

Does X log get you out as soon as you click it or does it wait till the spins are off you? Thought about doing it a few times but I don't wanna be getting hit while im not able to do anything about it.
