  1. the depression was caused by merchanting stopping and creating inflation, but there is no inflation in runescape. therefore, prices would stablize. There is inflation in runescape it just does not affect everything, such as items sold in the shop that are easily bought aka -Noob stuff found in general shops- and the price would rise. Look at it this way if there weren't merchants there to bring you constant flow of supplies, you would either need to get them yourself or find a needle in a haystack to sell to you and they could charge what ever they wanted because it would basically be a monopoly, if no one else was selling those items. Merchants are like stock brokers, they bring the items your looking for to you with out you having to work as hard.
  2. Anyone who would want merchanting to stop does not completely comprehend what merchanting actually does. It creates a more stable economy, and the only way to have a truly "Set Price" is not if merchants stop merchanting but if there truly was a "Tyrant" or someone who set the prices, or if there were no more updates or changes which would cause an equilibrium causing the prices to become closer to a set price having a smaller price range but not a set price. but that would not happen just like the iron armor with a str bonus it would make no sense to add that to only iron armor. And the Great Depression was caused because the merchanting basically stopped and thats what you want to happen. If you don't know history than learn about it, history repeats itself unless you know what happen to change it, So asking for the merchanting to stop is technically asking for another stock market crash. And don't assume that I do not know what or how the depressions happened. Learn some history, take an economics class. And its not a paper hat... ITS PIXELS.
