Center Ice is the way to go. It has 10 channels of Hockey so you don't miss a game. (Unless your a Chicago fan because they don't bother televising...) / end advertisement.

Hehe! Coloraod is no good! The same can be said for Edmonton. I mean if they're no good, what would that make a team lower then them in the standings. :P

Colorado frustrates me. They lose two straight to the worst team in the West then easily knock off Nashville. Lately they have been been blowing the points they should have and getting the points they shouldn't. Mind you, that is not nearly as strange as Minnesota having the league's best home record and the worst road record.

Bleh. Colorado lost to the red hot Blackhawks  Apparently the coaching change is working. The Northwest is really going to be a dogfight all year (2 points seperates 1st from 5th.) Montreal, my sleeper pick in the East is playing decent hockey though.

That was an interesting game. Apparently Smyth is fan of an eye for an eye. I'm not overly thrilled with his elbow to Richo's face when the game has already been decided. Nor was I thrilled with the booing from some of the fans when Richardson got up afterwards. Kind of a sour note for a big win. --- On a random note, I think that game had a first for me. Both teams got a too many men on the ice penalty at the same time.

Notice which division is sitting 3rd, and 7-10. --- I don't even think Carolina should of made it to the finals. The only series they deserved to win was against New Jersey. In the first round against Montreal, Koivu went down and Montreal lost all momentum. Montreal blew a 2-0 lead. Then in the Conference finals, Carolina was playing Buffalo who were missing their ENTIRE defence core. If I remember correctly Buffalo lost game 7 because of a silly penalty. But hats off to them, they did win. I just don't think it would happen nine times out of ten.

That's the beauty of Hockey. The best team doesn't always win. Example: Carolina in every playoff series last year.

The Canadiens in my opinion are easily the most underrated team in the league. Their my sleeper pick in the East ;) Darkmage: I think your the first Oiler fan i've met that wouldn't mind the Flames taking the division. I got to humbly disagree with you on Colorado being too weak. Their main problem is their back end and hopefully Leopold will be able to solidify it. If not they have a bit of cap room to play with. Their offence has never been much of an issue. It's also distributed between all the lines. Not too mention, they have been in almost every game they've played. Most of their losses are by one goal (and a few more with an empty net as well) With a few bounces their way, they could easily compete. But obviously we're both biased :P I'm still saying it's WAY too early to call. But of course, watch Vancouver pull off a trade like San Jose did with Thornton just to spite me.

I don't think MIN is the only other threat for the division ;) All 5 teams are within 3 points, +/- two games.

Colorado won in a shootout but almost lost it. It isn't often that a team is being outshot by 30 halfway through the second (Ducks third shot was about 8 minutes into the second). But of course after that time, the Avalanche slowed down and the Ducks picked it up... The Ducks went on to put the puck in the net three times after that - with one being dissallowed due to a kick.

I don't think any player intentionally tries to hurt another player like that. I think the game got out of control, JML got caught up in it all and kneed Smyth. Even as a fan of the Avs, I can't say that was a clean hit. I just don't think he was bragging in the locker room afterwards. I don't know about "tons" more valuable though. Colorado's top defencemen has been Liles, so it's not like he's a fourth liner. That being said, a suspension is needed. I'm hearing rumours it's just a Charley Horse for Smyth.

When is Kubina due back? I first heard he'll be back for Boston and now i'm hearing that he won't? :? Kozari lost control of the Avs-Oil game. In particular, he looked lost in the third period. He looked especially shaky up to and after the rather nasty knee on Smyth. Hope Smyths alright =/ I'm drawing parallels to the Bertuzzi-Moore-Naslund incident which is never good. On the note of nasty injuries. I really hope they get rid of hitting to the head. I don't see why a small hook or obstruction to a guy gets 2 minutes, but a possible concussion causing hit gets none. I like to think penalties should at least be called concerning player's safety.

I don't think any Canadian team will go in as a "favourite" for the cup. That being said, any Canadian team could take a low seed and go deep (as seen in the last few years). I gotta go with Montreal though. Burke and the ducks were busy today.

I'm with Darkmage. As i previously said, Minnesota has had a MUCH harder schedule. Not too mention that the only reason they are behind is because they lost their games 5 minutes earlier then the Ducks lost theirs. Not too mention, Minnesota hasn't lost to a struggling team. The Ducks on the other hand are looking in fine shape to blow a game against Calgary. I think that I could even make a case for both Dallas and San Jose being stronger. They both have the same number of wins as Anaheim too ;)

Minnesota is playing a stronger game then Anaheim in the West right now. In my opinion, the ducks have had a fairly soft schedule. They have played back-to-backs once. (OT loss to Minnie, then a W against Chicago)Most of the ducks games are close, 7 went into OT. They have won by more then 1 goal only 6 times. 7 of their games have been to under .500 teams. (St Louis x2, L.A. x2, Chicago, Phoenix x2) Of the 9 games they played against teams above .500, they went into OT 5 times, and lost 4 out of those 5 games. Could be me, but I don't see the strength of the team on ice or on paper to be as strong as their point total suggests. Unfortunately, the next few games don't look much harder. Calgary tonight (back-to-back from yesterday), Minnesota (The difficult game), then Philly, Chicago and Phoenix. After that, It starts to get challenging with a San Jose, Colorado back-to-back. San Jose I feel is playing better hockey, and should they get smacked around a bit Colorado may become a difficult game. Fatigue could be a factor when combined with Denver's elevation. Following that, New Jersey and a tour of the Northwest. Losing momentum through out these games could be devastating as there is a lack of an "easy" win to get emotions back up. It is way too early to say that they are the best, wait at least until after these games. --- On the other side, Minnesota has played 2 games less and have the same number of losses (4) except they were in regulation. Of the games played, 3 are below .500 (Columbus, and L.A x2). Their losses have been to Nashville, San Jose, Anaheim and Colorado. They also don't get the luxury of beating up on Phoenix 8 times in a season.

Still rather bitter about Colorado's loss to the Kings. The defence really needs to crack down. Hopefully Leopold will help, A LOT. On the bright side our "talentless" offense is firing. Depth in scoring is there too. Perhaps i'm slightly biased, but I really feel that they're going to be the Darkhorse of the West. Rookies across the league are looking sharp.

    The Drawbridge

But since he is called the "madman", you would assume that he actually is mentally unfit. That being said, the whole scenario could of been a conspiracy. Perhaps, the locals were trying to ruin the Baroness as a way to get at the Baron.
  22. Thaulsis

    The Drawbridge

I blame the servant. If the drawbridge was down, why wasn't someone watching the bridge? Since the Baroness had to order the gate to be left down, it implies that the gate is up normally and security is an issue. If not, the bridge would always be down. If someone was watching the gate, they would of noticed the madman. Someone must of been slacking off instead of doing their job. The Baroness, is next. The madman told her that he would kill her, and she still tried to cross. She could of waited for her husband and have been punished severely, instead she sealed her own death. Next, the boatman. Something must be shady about him if he is ferrying people to an island with a drawbridge nearby. The lover is next. While not overly his fault, he could of at least gave her some money for her to pay the shady ferryman. Or, at least suggested something to her. The friend shouldn't be blamed much, as she was merely trying to help her friend learn a lesson. The friend probably didn't approve of the Baroness' affair and was hoping that a scolding would teach her. She could of thought that the madman was merely a lousy attempt of the Baroness to deflect blame. Second last on the list would be the Baron. The Baron, might have known about local crazies, and threatened his wife in hopes that she would listen and be safe. The madman is last. He could claim to be mentally unfit.
