I. Iceland Quest: the Journey Wandering around Port Sarim is a sailor. If you talk to him, he will let you start a quest. Captain:I can't belive I was rejected... You: Rejected from what? Captain: For goverment funding in the Duke's budget. You1: I'll help. You2: Who cares? Captain1: Sure! I'll need some gp, and some items. Captain2: Who cares about you?(ends converstaion) You: How much gp? Captain: About 20,000 gp, plus 75 wheat, 50 pots of flour, and 80 pieces of dried meat. You: Dried meat? Sailor: Sure! Just take meat, slice it up, and use it with a big rock. You: And? Captain: Use this pouch of salt with it in 15 seconds, then take the meat.(gives you 100 use pouch of salt) You: Sure. Bring him the items as you get them. When you give him the last stuff... Captain: I got funding! Now I need more stuff. I need to start a colony. You: Groan... Captain: Another 25 pieces dried meat, 30 hard leather, 10 thread, and 5 needles. Also, we need 2 iron axes, 2 iron pickaxes, 3 knives, and 3 steel longswords. Also, just in case, I'll need about 10 bear furs. I'll take you along if you like. You: (loud groan)Sure. Where are you giong? Captain: A place, discovered and lost several times. It has been called Iceland, but its real name is unidentified. Told of only in stories until recently, when a book was found detailing a treasure stash, and the path there. Bring some stuff: mainly to survive in a cold place. Bring him the stuff, and you will set off. THe Uniditified is about the half size of member's Karamja, and has a coast similar to Iceland (in real life). Mt. Hekla (the gate to Zamorak's realm) is there, along with Vatnajokull, and eventually, Reykjavik (name: Saefting) (different names though). When arriving there, you will discover snow (all the time), and 5 damage every minute without proper protection on the morthern and central parts. The coastline is mush like a forest. The central part has rivers and mountains. Note a certain valley by the coast: Thingvalltn (a council for Iceland, but a different name in RS) is there. The sailor, when you get off, will hand you some bearfur clothes. All of a sudden, the ship crashes and you are stranded. You: Darn... Captain: We'll be back in four months, when Francis will stop by to check on us. You: Four months?!! Captain: Or, we could search for some sand, seaweed, and some other stuff and enchant ourselves a communications orb. You: What do we need? Captain: I have the law runes and glassblowing pipe, but I need to make a crude furnace, crude range, and need a bucket of sand and seaweed. Plus, you'll have to run the Code machine while I keep it running. Take the axe and pickaxe, and a steel longsword, and start looking. It's just a small favour, I'll repay you. You: Ok. You2(if you have done One Small Favour): (loud groan) I know what happens to favours... II. The Small Exploration Favour First of all, you need some seaweed and sand. Where could you find some? However, most of the island is too cold for your bear fur, you'll need something to protect yourself. Scattered around the shipwreck is junk, mainly planks and nails, but some thicker leather is there. Equip that, and look around. Eventually, you will discover a Fremmnik person in a tent. Talking to him will have him tell you that he has no intemtion of helping you, unless you can kill this serpent that has been stopping all plans of escape from this cursed island. You: Cursed? Fremmnik: Yep. A mysterious altar lies on the northermost part of this island. A mysterious symbol is engraved onto it, something like a smowball. I call it the Ice altar. THis must be the reason why the island is so snowy, but how did it get here? You: Where is the serpent? Fremmnik: Follow me. Actually, I don't want to come. Go to the south-east. You: Why won't you come? Fremmnik: Hurry up! I don't have all day! You: Okay, okay... Follow his directions. Make sure you're on the coast. A Sea Serpent (lvl 70)will climb on the land and attack. Kill it, then pick up the two big bones and the scales. You can fight more, later. Bring the scales back to the Fremmnik, and he will ask you what you need. He says he has a small furnace, some soda ash, and then some sand. Tell the Captain, and he will blow some glass. -Crack- Fremmnik: Oops... III. No Escape You:Great. Now we're stranded here for three months. You: How were you planning to get off anyway? Fremmnik: ... I dont have time, so more coming soon! IV. At Last! Finally! Wait 48 hours (not counting logged out time, must be logged in. You could familiarize yourselfwith the island). Francis will stop by with his ship of settlers, and the colony of Safeting will start. You: You're about 3 months early. Francis: I couldn't wait. Anyway, I found the location of an amulet somewhere. You can go find it, it's in one of the volcano dungeons. It has 40 charges, and lets you teleport (for 1 charge and 2 airs, when you operate it in the equip screen) to Falador, Varrock, Lumbridge, Draynor Manor, and for members, Camelot and Catherby. It is located at the end of the dungeon past the Ice Giants, Ice Warriors, Moss Giants, Hill Giants, Lesser Demons, and Level 45 skeletons. When it runs out, it explodes and you have to get another one. V. Mysteries VI. The Catacombs More to come... Rewards Ice Robes Catacombs letmethink... Please note that I'd like if you would include a rating when you post. Or, you could help and post suggestions. Thanks goes to Veltia, in pointing me to a Wikipedia article about phantom islands. (The Ice altar is destroyed at the end of the quest, and it is never used much, but the island is still snowy...)
