  1. Again, I'm not entirely sold that no old accounts are RWT or macroing accounts. But maybe couple the two ideas - for 5K trade imbalance you have to have been a member for a year AND have at least 25 quest points - etc. etc. And I think that if you have 150+ QPs or have been a member for at least 8 years (or something along that line) than there should be no limits for trade imbalance.
  2. That's a good thought, but I bet that some of the RWT accounts are pretty old. I like the quest point idea because it is the one sure way of determining a 'real' player from a RWT or autoer. Now, before people start screaming let me note that not ALL 'real' players do a lot of quests. However, all players that do a lot of quest are 'real' players. The amount of work that needs to be done in order to finish something like the Legend's Quest is more work over a broader range of skills than the RWT's are willing to do. I see the point that some (many?) 'real' players may be left out, but I feel fairly confident that Jagex is working on that and is ready to listen to any good suggestion.
  3. No, I actually still play the game and pay attention. How about you? :-w Have you tried to log on lately? Seen how busy the servers are? Have you tried hunting dragons or gone to a slayer dungeon? Maybe checked out the GE? You see, if you had, you would have seen no real difference in amount of activity from before the update. Yes, PKing supplies have fallen in price. Big surprise. However, skilling supplies have either stayed the same or risen. Blue d'hides have risen a bit and Dragon Axes have gone up (for instance) Maybe before you start calling other people blind you should open your OWN eyes up to the fact that PKing supplies are just one small part of the greater economy. It means exactly what you don't want to admit it does - RS can and will live just fine without PKing. What part of "I disagree" are you having problems understanding? Again, have you checked the server numbers recently, gone to the slayer dungeons, etc. etc. Fact is that there is just as many, if not MORE, people on now than there was before the change. So either the rioters are still playing while complaining, or their departure didn't cause the big problem for Jagex that they had thought (or hoped) it would. No, I thought I had made that pretty clear. It must be difficult to hate something when you obviously don't understand its meaning. If RS was "ruined" no one would be playing it. Since there are still as many people playing it now as was before indicates that for the vast, vast majority of people it isn't (and wasn't) ruined. Cry all you want, insult me all you want, but the facts are the facts. RS is still going great and is still very, very popular. Again, full servers seem to indicate that it certainly WASN'T ruined for everyone. In fact, it appears that it wasn't ruined for MOST everyone.
  4. I don't know, maybe math isn't your strong suit? You have a some friends leaving (BTW - leaving means they haven't yet), yet the servers are still full. Doing the math would seem to indicate that the loss of your friends hasn't affected RS in the least little bit. Again, you seem to have a basic lack of comprehension. If RS was going bad for everyone, then why is everything still going great? You state that a couple of your friends have left, yet the servers are still full, the monster areas crowded and the GE busy. You see, if RS was going bad for everyone then these things wouldn't be happening. The fact that they are points to the fact that RS is better for most everyone. No, I showed that the servers are still full and RS is still doing great. All you've shown is a peculiar aptitude in missing the larger point. We all get it that you and your friends aren't happy. What you don't get is that the vast, vast majority IS happy. Maybe you should extend your circle of friends in order to see the greater point. Better yet, just pull up the server page and see how many people are still on. Complain, insult and kevetch all you want, the facts point to the truth - RS has moved on since the changes with no real discernible negative impact. Sure, they lost a couple of people. Some of these people will be missed, but I think the greater amount won't. More importantly though is that it seems as if the number of new members is as much as, if not more than, the number of quitters. I'm sorry, no 'right'??!! I have every right to do so, especially when it's the truth. Again, if "most" people were impacted and "most" people "lost what they did for fun", then why are "most" people still on and still playing? Face it, for MOST people, RS is more, MUCH more, than PKing. Don't believe me? Take a look at those server numbers.
  5. Well, almost three weeks since the dreaded "changes of doom" and RS seems as healthy as ever (and, maybe, even healthier!). The "mass exodus" of quitting PKers either a) didn't happen; B) wasn't near as many as people thought there would be; or c) has been more than offset by new players. The economy has adjusted (and continues to adjust). PKers are learning that skillers had just as much influence on the economy as they did! As such, expect raw materials needed for leveling skills (ores, pure ess, logs, seeds, etc.) to increase in price. It appears that the 'rioters' have learned a harsh, but important, life lesson - no one is indispensable. RS did NOT exist solely for (and according to the whims of) PKers. I understand that for many PKing was the 'best part' of RS. I didn't agree with that, but I understood it. However, for the vast majority of people, there were other "best parts" of RS. Thus it is a large difference between saying "RS took away my favorite part" and "RS is ruined!" Or, to put it another way, there is a vast, great difference between "RS is ruined FOR ME" and "RS is ruined for EVERYONE." The simple facts of full servers and crowded GE's shows that RS was NOT ruined for everyone. In fact, RS seems to be going better than ever!
  6. Just like there is literally NO use on f2p for limpwurts (dropped by Hill Giants) aside from selling them. :-w
  7. Agreed. Without fletching bowstrings are useless. You're missing the point. Sure, without Fletching the F2P couldn't use the bow strings, but they could SELL them and make very good money - and that was the point I was making all along.
  8. You know, this is a very good point and one that is so often overlooked. The main point of F2P is to pull people in, have them 'fall in love' with RS and then want more. It certainly wouldn't hurt to make F2P more attractive in order to pull more people in.
  9. You might also note that the dictionary doesn't just have one definition for a word. In this case, 'pure' has several meanings including 'ceremonially or ritually clean.' The point is that language is fluid and can change and be modified by how people use it (for instance the word 'gay' used to be understood solely as being happy). So, as a rant I give this a 0/10 and call it lame ("weak; inadequate; unsatisfactory; clumsy").
  10. Disclaimer: My main is a member but my other account isn't. I understand the whole "you get what you pay for" and "JAGEX wants you to become a member." But I don't think that means that JAGEX can't give SOME love to F2P. Here are a couple of things I'd like to see added to F2P: - a couple of maple trees. In F2P you have to go from willows to yew with nothing in between. A couple of maple trees would be nice to help bridge that gap. - a place to fish lobsters that isn't so ridiculously far away from a bank. Now, I should note that this situation was one of the deciding factors for me becoming a member! - a flax field. Flax is such a good way to make money and increase your crafting lvl.
  11. I thought I remember reading somewhere that RSC used to have an option where you could automatically drop what you mined (or was that for woodcutting?)
  12. Ah yes, another intelligent, well thought out response. BTW - the game is ALREADY a better game - always was. That's the point. And the elitists are those who think that the whole game is ruined because they can't PK anymore. BTW - I guess YOU'RE an "elitist" since you felt the need to bash MY opinion. :shame:
  13. The point you're missing is that you want to end the discussion after someone replies to my opinion. It doesn't work that way. And the bold was not directed toward you particularly - I was using the global sense of 'you'. Listen, this whole conversation about what I can or can't (or shouldn't) say really isn't getting us anywhere. I get what you are saying, I just disagree with it.
  14. Likewise. And that's fine. In the end, though, it's not going to be our individual opinions but how we each act and react to the changes in the game. So far, though, it seems the doomsaying has been a bit overstated and those quitting have not had the impact they thought they would.
  15. Well obviously like everyone else I'm a little more particular to my own point of view. That said, your comment is patently ridiculous because we are in a forum which means that the whole thing is about opinions and going back and forth. I'm just as entitled to voice my opinion about someone else's opinion as they are to voice their opinion on my original opinion. There is no 'stopping' point where one can't further reply. And if you're afraid of voicing your opinion because someone else might disagree with it than you probably shouldn't be posting here to begin with.
