  1. If it's a room you want then you can't use buffs to get it.

Tea gives +1, +2, or +3 depending on the level of your shelves in your kitchen. +1 starts at 6, +2 starts at 45

Evil stew can be made after you start recipe for disaster, and you do evil dave's sidequest. You'll find it VERY hard to get a +6 from evil stew, so don't count on it.

Either of those will stack with the crystal saw.

  2. Yeah I've never tried the cannon there, but that's probably about right. When you don't have the stats it's the only way though. The best solution is probably don't do barrows.

  3. I just ran the base exp for 21 in the construction calculator, and it tells you the number of materials you'll need to reach 47. Your results should be somewhere around here if you're still level 21.

    Your choices are

    2,418 Plank & Nail - inefficient

    4,674 Cloth - expensive

7,011 Clay - 2.1 mil in clay (REALLY expensive, I got to mid 60s on this much)

7,011 Iron Bar - still expensive

3,506 Limestone Brick - I never used them, so I don't know, but I've heard the garden isn't good to lvel

    3,506 Steel Bar - expensive

1,169 Oak Plank - this was the method I used

779 Teak Plank - you can't use yet

501 Mahogany Plank - you can't use yet

If you cut 1169 oak planks yourself, and take them to the sawmill that will cost you roughly 292k gold to reach your level. Regular old planks and nails might be cheaper, but you'll be spending a lot more time cutting, running planks, and dealing with busted nails (and probably won't save that much overall).

  4. Oh and for quests I would definitely suggest The Eyes Of Glouphrie since you get the crystal saw for your reward. This item gives a passive +3 that can stack with regular buffs like construction tea and evil stew to give up to +9 construction. +9 construction is really hard to get though, but +8 is doable. I used that way to get a guilded altar at 67.

As for exp - taken from the zybez guides.

    * Darkness Of Hallowvale: 2,000 XP

    * The Eyes Of Glouphrie: 250 XP

    * Cold War: 1,500 XP

    * Fremennik Isles, The: 5,000 XP

    * Tower of Life: 1,000 XP

    * Great Brain Robbery, The: 2,000 XP

    Quests with a choice Experience

    * Legends Quest: 7,650-30,600 XP (7,650 is given to 4 skills from a list of skills)

    * One Small Favour: 10,000-20,000 XP (2 x 10,000 lamps for any skill of your choice over level 30)

    * Recipe for Disaster: 20,000 XP (A Lamp to grant 20,000xp in a skill of your choice over level 50)

    * Great Brain Robbery, The: 5,000 XP for any skill wanted

  5. You might want to use those with the ectofuntus since it gives like 450% the exp (about 280ish for d bones instead of 60!) Either that or find someone with a guilded altar that's willing to let you sacrifice bones there (guilded altars + burners = about 250 exp for each d bone)

  6. considering what people pay for soft clay these days I would say ponds are actually a pretty bad way to level./quote]

not if you use the sapphire bracelets and a close bank like Varrock.

You can easily mine a load of clay in a minute and most people have lots of sapphires in the bank.

Since he said cheapest way that would tell me he plans on buying materials. Not to mention you could mine all that soft clay, sell it, and make more exp off the planks it would buy.

hmm 3k (10 soft clay) worth of materials for 100exp

or ~450 (4 planks and some nails) for 2 chairs worth 58 exp ea.

It gets a lot easier once you can use oak things though since you don't have to deal with nails after that.

  7. It's probably a good idea to take the holy wrench with me if I'm banking after each run right? :)

edit: One more question. Is Verac's special always in effect or should I pray when I fight him? He didn't do any serious damage to me last time I fought him w/o.

  8. You might have trouble doing barrows with those stats. It's hard for me to hit them melee, but I have no problem maging them with magic dart (requires 50ish slayer), even if I'm wearing rune armor. They're REALLY weak to mage, so it's probably the best way to kill them (except ahrim). I guess you could always cannon them though, but that might get expensive.

  9. My Stats are in my sig below.

I've done barrows once or twice before without any big problems, but that was quite awhile ago.

My attack plan is to use magic dart because I'd like to train my magic up, so How many death and mind runes should I stock up on before I go?

My house has an altar and a port to canafis, and I can make my own house tabs; so would it make sense to port there after each run to charge up on prayer?

That's about all my questions for barrows. Thx :)

  10. When it first came out it didn't, then jagex changed it around so the dragon axe does cut trees faster. The speed increase probably isn't justified by the price (and it's probably not that much better either). I wouldn't suggest wasting money on it unless you're a serious wood cutter.

  11. Well, this update makes me want to shoot myself for waking up at 7:30. Not planning on using any of the new jewelry except for necklace of skills, clay bracelet, and CW bracelet.

I might consider training with Phoenix Necklaces if they heal me for 30% of my hp. From the wording of the description, I'm not quite sure if they heal FOR 30% or if they heal you TO 30% of the HP. For instance, will I go to 30 HP or will I be given 30 HP? Might be useful in some situations.

    Incase Jagex reads this....

PUT THE BRACELETS IN THE RING SLOT

I would guess you gain 30% of your max hp. (23 hp in my case since I have 77 hp)

  12. That rare huh :( Ah well the exp is nice at least. I was waiting for the scepter to do runs for selling all my items. I've just been banking them in the contact bank to save time. I guess I can do them manually if I really need the cash (I got 150k in plunder items so far lol).

    Thanks :)

  13. Basically I want to know my chances at the scepter. I just looked at the zybez price guide, and see it's REALLY expensive. I was thinking like 80k max, but it's 10x that, so is is REALLY rare to boot?

Is it worth it doing my way for the exp, or for going just chests & Sarcophagi?

  14. Could anyone give me rough drop estimates on the Sceptre? I'm level 61 thieving, so I can do rooms 1 through 5.

My current run through is something like this

Room 1: gold chest, next room

Room 2: gold chest, next room

Room 3: Sarcophagus, gold chest, next room

Room 4: Some urns, Sarcophagus, gold chest, next room

Room 5: As many urns as possible, then Sarcophagus & chest.

I'm trying to get decent thieving exp while searching for the sceptre. What exactly are my chances through the 5 rooms though? If it's really low then I'd probably be better off just looking while training like I'm doing now.

  15. Yeah I was just wondering if tea can raise the chances of the evil stew hitting max, but I'm pretty sure now that it doesn't and may actually harm it. I'm using 3 spices, so far I got to 71 lol. My cat is an adult though, so I can get orange spices pretty easy. Plus I have 100ish unmade stews so I just need to get meat. I'll get it eventually. \'

  16. Because evil stew raises to a maximum, and the tea affect may or may not help it reach that maximum. It probably doesn't, but I figured I would check.

And yes I know about the +3 tea. I don't feel like wasting 130k on something that I won't need.
