  1. Hello everyone,

I need advice on what to make to get from level 81 to level 99 herblore. As a skiller, are extremes/overloads are out of the equation as I cannot sell or use them? Or is the amount of experience gained from overloads worth spending 200m+ despite how useless they will be to me?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Anyone have good ideas on how to go about this? On my main I planned on making extremes to 96 then using them to make ovls up to level 99. But ovls will be quite useless on a lvl 3 skiller so anyone have any ideas on how to get to 99 without making any useless pots that won't resell in GE.

I have about 200m available to spend on herblore

  3. We will know when they do it. That's about it.

So in other words its absolutely random and there's no way to predict this. I was planning on transferring names and I don't want it to get sniped

  4. I'd recommend making a spare few hundred super att/str for casual slaying/minigames if you do that kind of stuff. If you intend to only boss hunt just make the overloads.

You need to look at the big picture when getting 99 herb if you don't want to waste money going past 99.

Generally over 1000-1500 special recovers is excessive imo, I've only gone through 300-400 in the two years or so I've been able to make them, but of course it all depends how you like to boss hunt.

Always good to make a few hundred super antifires as well if you enjoy slayer.

I'll be honest with ya...I haven't trained combat (lvl 116) in well over a year and my slayer level has been stuck at 54 for a year and a half. I've never fought a boss let alone SEE one during my runescape life. My goal is 99 slayer down the road so i'm making the overloads for that purpose...as for antifites, i have about 300 normal ones but I also have a DFS.

  5. I've pretty much made Prayer, Antifire and Ranging potions up until level 82...anyone have any idea on what I should make the rest of the way? I want to make things that can sell easily in GE so I can at least get some return back. I also want to spend only 150m more on this stat as well. Advice please?

    A little about me

I started this account in 2006, and have been playing on and off since around 2008 with some major breaks lasting up to 6-12 months. I'm usually pretty busy with school (currently in 3rd year university) and with my social life, so I don't usually get a chance to go on much. It's been 6 years since I first started my account and I have yet to reach a single 99 (pathetic, i know lol) so I decided I'll finally set some goals and actually stick to them this time.

    Goals

    • 99 Smithing: This has always been my favourite stat and when I first started I told myself it would be my first 99

    • 99 Mining

    • 99 Magic

    • 99 Crafting

Worst comes to worst, if for whatever reason I have to buy my ores (hopefully not), then I have an additional 250m+ in items if the 32M in gold is not enough

  7. Herblore exp is generally about 13-15 gp/xp (assuming you're not doing thing making pray pots forever and cleaning herbs all day)

So if you want 99 herb, you better make some more money.

The most useful potions are extreme atk/str/def/magic/range & overload

These are ALL untradable but are extremely (lulz) useful on anything PVM in nature.

Other then these you would also use:

    -Prayer Potions

    -Saradomin Brews

    -Super Stat Restores

But then again, you shouldn't be making any of these really.

You can look at this page for more info on herblore.

Thanks for coming back to this topic and editing your post to add the spreadsheet, I appreciate it. It's pretty useful.

  8. You said you don't want to go past 70m. If 70m is your herblore budget, then frankly, money IS the problem. If you want something that will sell, anything used to make extreme potions will sell because most of those potions are useful to begin with, the one exception being super energy potions which people still buy, mainly as a special restore ingredient. Saradomin brews also sell because they're very good to use in boss hunting to last longer, particularly with overloads which somewhat negate their stat-lowering effect.

But realistically, to get 99 herblore, you're looking at almost 200m with making potions and selling them, over 200m if you want to make a decent supply of extremes/overloads for yourself.

Thanks, I'll deffs look into extreme potions.

    ^^

Grimy's spreadsheets account for the median price of the potion, so you're actually selling all of them back when you're done.

    @OP, make a decision.

Is money a problem or not?

Having 70 mil means that money will be a problem

Ok...thanks for addressing the budget thing again, you certainly weren't the first one so far in this thread. Useful posts only please.

I would say prayer potions. If you're patient with them, dare I say it, you may break even.

Yah i'm working with prayer potions so far...i'm being patient but it's becoming harder and harder haha

Money isn't the problem I can sell items...the problem is I don't want to wind up with a huge amount of potions that won't sell.

Prayer potions are probably the most demand potion, and they're currently one of the best xp/gp, too. So those are the obvious choice. The problem is that XP weekend is around the corner, so pretty much everyone is doing prayer potions, which will make them practically impossible to sell, and will also greatly increase the loss per potion.

You might be better off going with a fairly high demand potion that isn't an obvious choice, such as super strength potions. Since very few people will be making them, and the demand is always going to be high, it may work out better for you.

I never thought of that...thanks for pointing that out. I think super str might be a good choice since many people might be training combat.

  10. What would be the best way to get to 99 herblore by making potions but I want to make USEFUL potions that can sell easily too. I've made many prayer potions which I actually use too when i need too, and I want to know i can easily sell them too if I need to. I don't want to spend over 60m on items either...i can go up to any amount but i'd like to keep it under 100M but that is not necessary.

Edit: Money is not a problem...I can easily up my budget by selling items.

  12. Why even bother getting rid of those items?

You have like 200 more free bank slots just standing around...

But if you really want to start 'fresh', sell everything!

It's not so much about not having enough bank spaces, I just don't want to have stuff i don't even know the purpose of or stuff i will never touch. And i don't want to sell everything then re-buy some of it eventually/

  13. I stopped playing RS for a long time and I want to start playing again, but I have A LOT of items that i may not need and that i don't even know what they are! I took screenshots of my items, so I was wondering if any of you can tell me what is useless for me to have and if you guys see anything that catches your eye and that's worth a lot.

Some random stuff, not sure if I need them all. Have no clue what the green thing is (druids pouch?), warrior tokens, ammo mould, fishing pass, mirror, etc. The 2nd tab consists of my maging and ranging stuff, I know the blue robes are noobish but I have yet to buy a good mage armour (still don't know which one). Oh and what on earth is a druid staff, can i drop it or will i need to use it one day?

    screenshot20101011at312.png

Tab 3 is full of my farming (lvl 1) and Heblore (lvl 13) items...I'm sure I will need them one day lol. Tab 4 is my armour and weapons, i'm sure there's a lot i don't need in there and I can sell. And yes I do plan on upgrading from full rune lol

    screenshot20101011at300.png

Tab 5 is my crafting/construction/mining/smithing tab. I know my smithing/mining/construction very well so I'm not changing that. Not sure if all that crafting stuff is necessary or worthless. Tab 6 is my costumes.

    screenshot20101011at301.png

Tab 7 is my summoning stuff (lvl 3) that I will one day train. Tab 8 is my fishing, runecrafting and fletching (lvl 1) tab. Tab 9 is my quests tab.

    screenshot20101011at301.png

Sorry for coming off like a giant noob btw, I have plenty knowledge about RS but only when it comes to the F2P world, as my stats show i'm a total noob in the P2P worlds. I will have more questions once I clean my bank but i'll just take it one step at a time, thanks in advance!
