  1. (This was my post taken from the Runescape Suggestions forum. It was sort of like a letter to Jagex.) <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> To be completely honest, I've become frustrated with Jagex lately. I still love Runescape and play it regularly but there are so many things in the game that are just no fun at all. And they're all unnecessary things that can easily be fixed with a few small updates. Now, some of these ideas are not so easy, but they will increase user-friendliness within the game. THESE ARE NOT ALL MY IDEAS! I AM NOT TAKING CREDIT FOR ALL OF THEM! Jagex, please listen to these. Some of them would be SO easy to fix, and would make some aspects of the game a little less tedious. Games aren't supposed to be frustrating to play. They are supposed to be fun. My main rant, piling everything into one sentence is: Stop adding to the game and fix it. The new updates are ok, but they arent changing the game for the better. 1. Exp 'UNTIL' Next Lvl When a player scrolls over a skill, they see " Exp" and "Next Lvl At." This has always bothered me. Anytime a player looks at that information, they want to see an approximation of the exp they have to get to gain a level. So Jagex, why not just tell us? Let me use this analogy. You're driving to New York. You see a sign that says "You have driven 25 miles so far, and you will have driven 100 miles when you get to New York." How crazy would that be? Very. Why doesnt the sign just say "75 Miles to New York"? Exactly. The exp information should be the same way. 2. Easier Way To Fill Vials One of the most un-enjoyable things in the entire game. Dying in the wilderness and losing all of my armor is better than filling vials. Make some way to "Fill X Vials." I don't care if it takes just as long. Just don't make me click so much. It's really tedious and annoying. I don't mind watching my character fill each vial individually. I don't mind the length of time it takes to fill the vials. I just can't stand all the clicking. It's making me dislike Runescape more and more everytime I have to fill vials. Please do something. Filling vials gives 0 exp. If filling vials gave exp, I wouldn't mind all the clicking, but since it doesn't, I suggest you make it a little easier on the wrist. I don't have a problem with cooking. Because it gives good exp. 3. Smith X, Please This is another thing that has always bothered me. The most you can smith at once is 10. Why isnt there an X option? The 10 limit is ok for people smithing things that require 3 bars or higher but what about those arrow head smithers? This isn't that big of a deal, but why not? Why stop at 10? Doesn't make much sense to me. 4. X, and All Only Excluding shops, the only options there should really be are "X" and "All". Example: Smelt X and Smelt All or Store X and Store All. That should be it. This doesnt really make much of a difference to the game but the 5 and 10 options are rarely used. When do you ever have a full bag of iron ore but only want to smith 16 of them? 5. A Market (Ran by NPC's) Jagex, have you ever tried to do any trading in Falador World 2? It's a gigantic headache. I would suggest a big outdoor market place for us. Like a big stall ran by NPC's. We would add our items (along with a price) to this stall and ALL players could see what we're selling, and buy it right from the shop. The money will go directly to the other player. This would seriously help out. 6. In-Trade Chat If you're not going to add #5 (I don't think you would.), atleast add an In-Trade chat so that the 2 players won't have to try and negotiate through all the other public chat messages. It would be a small box somewhere in the trade screen. Just you and the other guy. A small update can go a long way. 7. Follow Allow On/Off Please allow players to choose whether or not they would like other players to follow them. OR connect following with ignore, so that if a player is ignored, they can't follow you. 8. Longer Auto-Logout Time A minute and a half is just way too short. Please, I'm not asking you guys to remove the auto-logout completely. I know that its for lag reasons, to keep people from just staying on all the time and slowing down servers. But please make it atleast 2 or 3 minutes. 90 seconds is very annoying. (And for the people who I know are gonna say the auto-logout is for autoer protection: NO IT'S NOT. AUTO-LOGOUT DOES NOTHING TO STOP AUTOERS) 9. Less Censorship Please fix the word censors. It blocks too much stuff that isnt even bad. Why can't we say paccword? <--(Notice how easy it is to get around the censor). Also, you can say cheated but not cheet. Its just really dumb, and a lot of times it messes up and blocks things by accident and in some cases you can't even say someones name. (If you're not going to fix the censor, atleast have the option to turn the censors on or off.) 10. Remember Combat Settings I can't tell you how many times I've been disconnected while training combat, to log back on and forget to switch my style back to strength. It's very annoying, and it can mess up a player's combat training. RSC remembered our combat settings, why not RS2? (This wouldn't be as big of a problem if the auto-logout time were increased by a few minutes.) 11. A Sell All or Sell X Button (NOT BUY) I can see why you should have to BUY things in incriments of 10. But I do not understand why SELLING things should take so long. Lets say I've fletched 20,000 unstrung willow bows. And I would like to get rid of them but at the same time make a little cash. The problem is I've got to click...let's see...4,000 times! (Right click, then left click 'Sell 10'). Jagex, this is bad. This makes the game tedious and frustrating to play. AGAIN, BUY ALL WOULD NOT WORK. I AM AWARE OF THIS. But SELL all is needed.
  2. A lot of people on different are saying stuff like "stupid! nobody would get whip or maul kills! teh game would be ruuiined!!" What was the game like before whips and mauls came out?
  3. ok let me try to explain this... the current system ALREADY trys to give you the 3 most valuable items. but it horribly fails at it because the game doesnt really know whats valueable. so this would sort of enhance that system. i train at the pirate hut in the deep wild. i bring a rune plate, dragon dagger, lockpick, and lobbies. it took me forever to find someone that would let me buy a lockpick. so my plan is to eat all my food as i need it and if i get pked to get rid of all the food so that i can keep the plate, dagger, and lockpick. but i got pked by a super high lvl and didnt have time to get rid of my food. so i ended up in lumby with a plate, dagger, and 1 lobster. very very very annoying. if the game wants to give me the 3 most valuable items, i might as well tell it what i want! well thats how i see it...
  4. Ok, this was an idea I just came up with. If its already been posted, I swear i'm not taking your idea. We should be able to choose which 3 items we want to keep when we die. There would be a button somewhere on the interface, 'set death items'. click it and choose the 3 items that you would like to keep if you die. when those items leave your inventory or you bank them or drop them, or whatever, you will have to set your death items again. so this will really only be useful when you are fighting, or are in the wilderness (when you have a good chance of dying) I was thinking maybe when you get to the wildy line and the wilderness warning window pops up then there would also be a 'set death item' button in that window (to remind you to set your death items!) ------------------------------------------ This is good for: - People who want to pk in party hats - People who want to keep lockpicks instead of food (me) - People who forget they are in a free world and bring their dragon stuff (dragon stuff is worth nothing in free worlds) This is bad for: - Greedy pkers
