I really find the over reaction in this thread unbelieveable. It's not as if they're giving some super weapon. Its a banner which is effectively meaningless unless you went to the event.
i agree full heartedly (and im not going to runefest btw)
Agreed, it's a flag. Lets be serious here eh

2 days at FOG, nbd.
-
keeeep doing sara! :)
-
I guess it's just me who thinks that people would want armour and weapons? Teleports or what Saru saidd
-
Psht, i'm soooooooooooooo going, its as much as i spend during night out so it evens out I guess, minus the flight, but like i am going to london anyways...
-
Isnt the amount of tokens you get in FoG reduced in f2p? And aren't battle robes like impossible to get hold of?
I don't know about this one, all I know is it took 2 days of pure fog to get my robes, and I wont 95% of the time, the other 5% i was too lazy to try to win.. ahah.
And if you are that opposed to fog, just put in a ge offer for them, and constantly update them, might take a few weeks but you'll get them... but personally I say go play foggg :)
-
Just spend a few days at fog to get them, I did it on ftp worlds because I found it easier... the time it takes to get enough tokens will be a nice break from barraging, and will only take a few hours max. They are really good to have when barraging with a sol.

Actually you can sell the ammies to the rouge because i just used this method to get from 80 to 86 mage and it worked perfectly fine for me
You can still sell it to him, its just that the price is no longer the same as before.

Not needed, why would jagex put a double exp gain in a game with high-scores? In my eyes, it ruins the whole competitive atmosphere that RS has. -.-
Explain? Seeing as how everyone has an equal shot at the double exp during this period of time, the competitiion is not unfairly distributed. Anyone who has a 99 and a rank in it can continue training it on double exp day to stay the same distance ahead of the people underneath them as they were before the double exp weekend, or simply get a one up and train another skill for double exp.
Other than it being hard to buy materials off the GE, there is no downside to this. People who dislike the idea are simply very self-minded. So far I've seen "Well I won't be able to afford or buy anything off the GE!" and "I don't want to be stressed about having to collect materials so I can train the skill of choice on the double exp weekend!"
Tough. If you want the exp in that skill of choice, you'll find a way to train it on the weekend, otherwise you train something else. What "stresses" you out (something that is not mandatory but you seem to think it is) will help out many other people in the process. There's no need to be greedy.
And this is someone talking who has many, many 99s. I don't care if it "devalues" my 99s. Why should I have reason to be so bitter and unfriendly towards an idea that makes unbearable grinding just a little more bearable?
I don't believe it devalues 99s, I believe that it is unnecessary, RS has gone for 10 years without a double EXP weekend, it just seems, well, pointless and in a way, insulting to people who grinded those levels before this; obviously new content introduces new ways of training that is faster, but that is new content, where as this is a one-off weekend.
When dungeoneering was released, there was a huge runecrafting glitch, allowing people to get huge amounts of EXP in a short amount of time, this was promptly fixed and even given a rollback.
How is that different from the double EXP weekends?
You're comparing the rc glitch in dungeoneering to the exp weekend? Really?
-
A second bonus weekend? That would be nice.
I don't see how people are against this though. It's not like you're forced to participate in those. <_<
You have never participated in one, so you clearly don't know the problems that come with it, even without participating in the event.

8-12 hours, less if you have an organized high level clan to do it with.
Trying to do it on one of the themed Pest Control Worlds is a good 15-20 hours.
Even on the themed worlds it doesn't take that long, but then again, it had been a while since I've gotten void, so its recommended just to join a small PC clan.

Yeah, usually you profit at fiends, but its max 100k, but I suppose if you only get a little time on every day you might just want to do that, and use triple charms whenever you can of course.. But once you actually get the charms and the materials, making the pouches will go by pretty fast, but I recommend not going straight for 96, but to like go in little spurts just so you don't get burnt out.
-
Ok, so i'm going to tell you the route that I am taking, right now what I am doing is, bursting/barraging till 96 summoning, it shouldnt take more then 80mil, if you use battle robes and a sol, then after getting 96 summoning, going Dking, where you should be able to make a minimum 1m an hour with your yak, then use that to make back how much money you need for both herblore and prayer, i don't know which one you should do first, I just know I am doing prayer...
-
start training other skills? like mining, woodcutting, runecrafting, hunter...
-
You have low mining and smithing levels, so it's not like you have an understanding of what its like to smith things of higher quality. Anyways I don't really know what you are ranting about...
-
They last 6 hours.
-
If you're playing 10 hours a day at green dragons you could easily get enough money in a matter of days, but the key thing is, why are you spending it on a BGS, slash I also think that you play to much, but eh, what do I know.
I think you should do what others have suggested.
-
Actually you'll be hard pressed to get them off the ge, as they're street price is currently around 15mil.
Another thing is, be sure to join the cc "burstinglobs" as it will prevent everyone in the cc from crashing you, and also aid you in entering the dungeon and blessing your grave if you happen to die.

Why would I need healing? Won't I be praying against the lobbies?
And how long should it be to make the tokens to recharge battle robes?
Thanks
While luring, you may take damage from wallaskis(sp) and daggs, and are you just getting tokens to recharge them? or to purchase the set?
Recharging them shouldnt take more then a couple hours.
-
Ice, and you should use blood spells to heal aswell, when you get to 88 switch to smoke barrage, and then switch to barrage as soon as you can, let me know if you need anymore help.
-
I would suggest bursting rock lobsters with battle robes and a SOL, you could easily get to 94 with 50/60mil. You would also get quite a bit summoning and HP exp.
If you dont wanna do that maybe maging metals.. nowhere as nearly useful the first method though..
-
Yes you need to wear the helm, if your only doing fire bolt you should just use ahrims, not like you are using a lot of runes..
-
I'd have to go with prayer. Jump off a building, and prayer flash protection from melee at the last second before impact... talk about fun.
I'm sure teleports would come in handy, too. More handy, however, would be the ability to respawn at my hometown upon death, in full health. Nobody bothered to think about that one...
Why would you do protect from melee? It sure as hell isn't going to help haha

So buy a ticket. It's nothing like a holiday event, its an appreciative gift that was given to people who are attending RuneFest, I don't see any need for anyone else to have them. So it's in another country, suck it up jeeeeeez
