  1. A drunk decides to reform and serve the rest of his life as a monk. So he enlists in a monastery, where he spends his days copying ancient texts for distribution. AFter his day on the job, he becomes slightly conerned. He talks to the head priest and tells him that since all the monks are making copies by hand, and they're only making copies of copies, which were also hand copied, if one text had a slight error nobody would ever realize it.

The Head priest says, "Yes, that is a genuine concern. I will go into the monastery basement, where there is a vault containing the original texts and compare it to the most recent copy." Well, after 3 days the priest still hasn't resurfaced, and the monks become concerned for his safety. So the new monk goes down to check on him. Upon arrival, he finds the head priest with the original text and copy, with his head down, crying hysterically. The monk apporaches and tentativly asks "Father? Are you alright?" The priest looks up at him, teary-eyed, and yells,

  2. I don't avoid race topics, though I won't be the one saying jokes such as "a black guy, a jewish man, and a mexican walk into a bar...." just as a example. Society is too sensitized these days, any little thing could be seen as offensive. I'm sure others have said this before me but it is true unfortunately.

Edit: I'm 6'2 half Asian and half Caucasian.

So, is this a desktop pc or a laptop?...

What's your budget for it? (and please, what's the specs of your psu, and if you got a pci-e connector or molex available and brand)

Before i explain how-to (it's fairly simple), do you want to install it yourself (or if you know a friend or a relative who can do it) or a shop to do it for you. Because i don't want you returning back and saying that it all went to hell.

Could you also download cpu-z (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php), open up, mainboard, graphics interface and tell me what link width it says.

Edit: Hmm, second thought... I think it's better for you if you take it to a local computer store and get it done.

I have no idea what you said in 80% of that post. :wall: I'm a idiot wheeeeeeee..

  5. You go to the display tab to see your graphics card name in dxdiag

It doesn't say anything about graphics cards.

Edit to the post below me: Oh that's the graphics card tab? I thought it was system. Anyway its "Intel® 82945G Express Chipset Family"

There's your problem. That's an integrated card which isn't powerful enough to run orange box games.

Oh well, I got the orange box as a christmas present so I didn't actually buy it. I still wish I could play it though.

So new question, where can I get a better graphics card, and how to put it in my computer.

  7. Surprised no one has mentioned this.

    Go here

Select the orange box from the list, install the addon and done, shows you if it will run on your computer.

Don't see it on that list, and I don't know how to check my graphics card in the DxDiag thing.

Edit: also that site froze on me. :twss:

  8. I recently purchased the Orange Box from Steam, and when I try to play one of the games (half life 2, portal, TF2) my computer freezes and it says my driver has recovered. I just updated my driver, which one of my friends said I should do, but it hasn't made a bit of difference apparently. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. If any other details are needed I will try to put them up.

Note: it is only these games, any other online games (Runescape, SL, etc) work perfectly.
