Quite the forest they have built, west of the Lumbridge castle. Fair update.

Pretty boring articles, sorry! Or just not to my taste... I'd love to read RS-related stuff written in the Explosm fashion.

A Runescape goodie bag, eh, for playing the whole weekend... Now, if it was a Samsung Galaxy S II, a Dell XPS or an all-expense-paid trip to Hawaii I'd totally do it. As for MORE membership and a Runescape mouse pad, I dunno...

Ever since the gnomes got a graphical update I felt like killing them all too. Hope the leprechauns are next.

It's still 6 bucks a month so you might as well pay with credit, unless you're under 18, in which case you're screwed either way.

Ceremonial Swords are the fastest thing to smith in there (cheaper than ingot iii, too), but it's tedious and requires a lot of attention. Your accuracy with the swords barely improves over time, too.

Try giving a square root number (w/e it's called) for the orthotilesize parameter (like 4*4=16, 8*8=64, etc), then walk to a new area. Would be awesome discovering whether it increases the draw distance.

Also, this is going to be used alot here..
Arr. What a [bleep].
Even NPCs insult you now.

Hey-oh!
Been off runescape now for a good few years, returning today in style and I would like to know a few things.
1) Any changes to nature rune/grhaak route?
2) These days, what is the most efficient way to make money with 95 RC?
Thanks for your help, and hopefully will be posting alot more now I'm back :-)
Don't make money with rc. - It's about 400k-500k an hour
Around 750k an hour, and a secure zero-risk income at this.
Blood runes are the way to go, at the moment. Normally it switches between blood and death runes every few months, so check the GE. :]

I recall reading something like this once as well, so it's not total nonsense.
However, whether it will be released before we all die (2012), was not mentioned.

A technical question about DG:
Is it worth binding the Primal Platebody at 95 DG for the price of a weapon slot, if I usually key?
-
Would like to add the following tip (fresh of a crap floor):
Don't overwork yourself and be your team's slave. If your team sucks s*** from a straw, in most cases there's little to be done about it (they aren't as smart as parrots, or baboons, and can't be taught things as easily).

I don't know how my life would go on without Woox...
(if you think it's a troll post; post is equally trolling the thread as thread trolling forum)

Could be, of course. Probably not.
I'd do such a thing, personally - nature of the job, but can't say there's reason for others to go nuts over it (cancel membership, cut veins, etc.).

I have around 20m. I was wondering if it'd really help with my daily activites of Barrows, Slayer (with range) and range training to buy the following items:
1) Amulet of fury: is it really that good? Glory has teleports..
2) Amulet of ranging: +5 range attack bonus over Glory.
3) Archers' ring: Is +4 really that much?
4) Seers' ring: Same thing as above.
5) Infinity boots: 1m for a 2 more magic attack and defence bonus?
Thank you for your help.
1. Not unless you're fighting something big, and even then you'd probably choose prayer. The price is too high nowadays.
2. Good for ranging, and is relatively cheap. Well worth the investment, or you can get one for free yourself by killing some Aquanites.
3. Not at all.
4. A bit better, since magic doesn't go up to the 200s bonus like ranged can, and +4 is more bonus percentage.
5. Not at all, and you can easily get a pair yourself from the Mage Training Arena.

Like it, but some aspects are disappointing.
It's awesome by all means, except the game engine's. The least they could've done is to get rid of the partially loaded rooms, if not the loading times for each room you open. Oh, and the monolith and huge obelisk rooms are an extreme pain when they appear at the beginning of the dungeon.
Edit: Oh, and the community, of course. Epic failage for that. Never should've been a multiplayer skill.

Thanks for the replies. Can anyone explain this more on the technical side? I.e. effect on dynamic IPs, at what level the bottleneck happens - the ISP routers (unlikely I guess), or my modem - ways to avoid it (hardware firewalls on the ISPs side), etc. Since the attack is only incoming connections, isn't there a way to defend against it? I don't work in networking so I'm not entirely sure about what I'm talking about myself, but would love to know more on the subject.

'Ello there.
Lately there's been way too much talk about the term "DDOS" around the RS community, with 95% emo, and 5% fact. Basically, Runescape players claim to either be using the method to attack other players, revenge (!) for account theft, (mainly) to threat each other, and similar big words for the illiterate.
Now, I'm not new in the IT world, but Security isn't my field, so I want to get my knowledge in par.
Am I correct that, in practical terms, you can't attack a home machine? Furthermore, is it even possible to execute such thing, since even if you have the DNS address, you still have to go through a dozen routers and firewalls?

I DGed through the CC for the first time today (88 Dungeoneering), and gotta admit that I've never seen anything like it. The teamwork was flawless, with everyone having the correct supplies and no time wasted on arguing or flaming.
Overall, it was a large dungeon rush completed in 30 minutes, compared to 1:10 - 1:30 I usually manage in world 117. Amazing stuff.
Real shame there are no more players in the CC.
-
If I knew it existed! But I like having the layout match the actual map.
What would really be awesome is something like that written in C#, and network based, so the whole team could be in sync.

nex is sotra deadly because of her poor max
on her max of 384, 40% mage soak will take care of 73 or that damage, roughly a 19% damage reduce
if her dps was the same, as in slower attacks but higher ko potential, say a max of 800, then 40% soak could turn an 800 into a 560, a full 30% damage reduce, matching a divine
im guessing they made her hit fast accurate 200s on purpose to make soak suck, rather than being able to soak 180 dmg from a single corp hit
Not that her hitting 800s would be any more comfort than now...

Made something I think might help beginning keyers and players in general.
It's a PSD containing all the keys as layers, ordered by colours in folders. It's just a matter of moving them to where the door is - pretty easy to use (everyone has Photoshop nowadays, anyway).
Here's the link: http://www.filedropper.com/dghelpmap
It looks pretty much like this:
-
So it doesn't really absorb 60 hp out of 200 damage? Was always wondering.
It absorbs X% of the hit - 200, where X is your soak %. So if you have 20 soak and get hit a 300, you soak 20% of (300-200) which is 20, and end up getting hit 280 instead of 300.
It's pretty useless.
Ah! So it's applied only to damage done beyond the 200 hit mark... Now I get it.
This sure sucks, even with the potential to get to 40% soaking. =/
Your bad habits... in Runescape.

Using correct English I guess. Doesn't really match the community. I get called mod-wannabe a lot because of this. -.-'
