  1. I haven't read the whole topic, as it's rather late, I want to go to bed, and I'm a lazy beggar, and chances are this has been said anyway, but, I might as well back up the point, as from the two pages I did read, the majority were in agreement with the article. I had written up a huge big... monster of a retort after this, but really, it was all unneccesary drivel :P To give a quick summary of what I intended to say: Started playing Septemberish 2002 on first character. Community then still had many immature idiots. Year and a half later, or, a year after I quit (First time), RS caught on as a major fad at my school, and I got drawn back in. (The player age would be about 13 +). Community much the same, though sometimes more noticable immature folk. Quit mid 2004. Playing again now to relieve boredom of summer holidays. (Yes, I do go out with friends, but when you're 17, most people have jobs and/or girlfriends/boyfriends, and you drift apart for a while.) Community still much the same. Yes, there are more immature players... but I've also ran into more mature players too. This is because population has grown. Game is not easy for young people by itself. Sites like Tip.it (which is a very useful site) are probably used far too often, and make the game easy. I reackon younger players just pop up the guide to the quest they want to do, and use that all the way, without trying to figure it out theirselves. I still get stumped on quests occasionally, and I'm not a "preteen." I also don't consider the quests childish. Some of them are funny... or at least contain Jagex's attempts at humour, and I can see a lot of that going right over the heads of younger players. Some quests, such as Underground Pass, are rather creepy, others, such as recruitment drive need quite a bit of thinking to get through. Who here honestly didn't get stuck in the room with all the chemicals? Overall, while the game is "youth friendly" it's certainly not "youth only." Anyway, even if you older folk are sitting complaining about how childish it is... It can't be THAT childish if you play it and enjoy it!
