Well, other browsers dont make a difference. But, i will try the download the client thing. I have a friend whio plays it, a few actually, maybe they can help me out.

Yes, Runescape still doesnt work.... Site still says "DNS request not processed..Server is undergoing maintenance."

a) I can go into administrator (yet i am generally not on it as i was told once that if not neccessary, playing on soemthing other then admin is better) B) I doubt my parents put a filter on it - they dont know how and wouldnt put it on runescape c) No, i havent called them d) It goes to runescape website but the DNS Request not processed message shows up everywhere (in essence, doesnt work.)

Please any more ideas anyone?....

I can't try the suggestions anymore than I already have... I don't understand most of it. For instance, i cant find anything in "hosts" where i can add the ip for runescape under 127.0.0.1 localhost (which i dont see..)

First off, i have Windows Xp. Maybe that will help you help me Also, when i try typing the ip for runescape in the adress bar, and then press enter, yes i can get to runescape. HOWEVER, why then, if i have gone directly to runescape through the ip, does it still say on every runescape page "DNS request not processed.....blah blah" - and even when i select a world to play in, it goes to the white screen with the blue letters (which is what i originally get if I type http://www.runescape.com. If i bypass DNS which would find the ip, and simply type the ip, why is this still shown? And also, the only person who could possibly block the wesbite is my brother (he isn't fond of runescape) - if I were to ask him if he blocked it, he would certainly not admit to it (if he did it). Therefore, is there some way i can personally unblock it if, hypothetically, he has blocked it? And also, if he blcoked it, why does his computer (which shares the same internet through a HUB) show the same result when you go to runescape.com ---this leads me to believe its JUST my internet connection?....

Damn, although you seem to very good with computers Collective, I dont understand half of what you say ;] However, the things i did try didnt work as i had wished (i couldnt open hostsin notepad... didnt know where to enter ip... couldnt find 127.0.0.1 localhost anywhere..... By the way.... What is DNS? Can DNS somehow have been altered to block runescape? And, once again(cuz i havent really gotten an answer to this lol), would it be possible to somehow block a website in c:\ for instance, and thus be able to unblock as well????? Anyway... damn.

I have tried your ideas Collective. Results: For nslookup http://www.runescape.com i get a response: DNS request timed out. -- timeout was 2 seconds-- ***Request to cachednsbc02.nssi.telus.com timed-out runescape.co.uk didnt work I tried your ip and yes, i got to the website. HOWEVER, on every page on the way to world select somewhere it sais DNS Request Not Processed-The server is undergoing maintenance.......... This would be acceptable, YET, when i chose a world it didnt start loading and i got the original page giving the same message : DNS Request Not Processed-The server is undergoing maintenance in blue words on a white page... So, ive gotten to website but cant get past world select..

Ok.. i went through the steps Aldeon gave and it seemed to be doing stuff so yea.. However.. Runescape still does not work - gives the same message.. I don't understand why because the frieken site IS NOT under maintenance.. Im getting really mad now because i havent played runescape in about 3-4 weeks.... Please, someone, IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO BLOCK WEBSITES FROM BEING ENTERED, AND IF SOMEHOW RUNESCAPE HAS BEEN BLOCKED FOR ME, HOW CAN I UNBLOCK??? Im stupid with computers but if this is a possibility then it may be the answer... Any more ideas anyone?? Please get back to me on the blocking hypothesis :cry:

I've now tried to do all the file deleting - some files it wouldnt let me delete but many it would.. Yet, this didnt help. When i do the cmd ipconfig stuff it doesnt even work - it sais this when i try /release, /renew, or /all : /realease is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Likewise, it sais this for /renew and /all as well. So, what do i do? I think my runescape days are over..........:( and i was so close to 85 mining....

I still have to go try the cmd ipconfig /renew thing - yet, will that mess anything up for a while??? My brother has his own computer which shares the same internet - will it screw his up?? Also, is it possible that he blocked my runescape website to be an idiot? Lol, if so, can i unblock - anyway, yea, still gotta try to /renew stuff prolly today or tomorrow i will.

First off, i really appreciate your help - however, i am very dumb with computers :( FOR INSTANCE , when u say "run cmd" i dont know what your talking about.... Furthermore, i use mozilla firefox so this may make some of your directions different?? Also, i have tried typing ipconfig in 'run' and a small black screen pops up for a split second and then disappears - thus, i cant type anything in there like /release or /renew (if you meant for me to type those things in there?) Also, i have played runescape for more than a year - why suddenly after doing nothing differently would the temp files or so make the site say that it is under maintenance??? It doesnt make sense - if, possibly, a family member blocked the website somehow, how could i unblock it? This is just hypothetically but what if it was blocked? Anyway, thx for ure help so far - i havent had the opportunity to go try your steps yet, but soemtime in the next few days i likely will.... I really hope i get it to work and then if i do please accept some gp in game :D :lol:

OK. I really need a nice person's help. I have a big problem. Every time for the last 2 weeks that i have gone to the runescape website it doesnt load right; it sais something about a DNS Server or w/e - then, next to that it sais : SERVER IS UNDER MAINTENANCE. What does that mean? I have tried loading runescape on many different computers, and it works for all of them! My friends can play, but the webiste doesn't even load for me!!!!!!! Please help mwe out if you know what i can do - maybe my internet has blocked the website or soemthing????? PLEASE IVE PLAYED FOR 1.25 YEARS OR SO AND NOW I CAN'T - PLEASE.
