He did, in fact, say that. OP is, unfortunately, misinterpreting the quote in order to fill his wanted definition.
In Runescape, you don't do the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome each time. You do it as a process to achieve something, such as a level, a drop, etc. Aka a shitty job.

This won't save Runescape. Runescape is a dying game that I, technically, played for $0.27/hr through my youth. Those "player-based content changes" will just be Jagex letting you decide how to let your avatar die.

And now why this is a bad thing. After the squeal update, I said "f*** it. Runescape is becoming farmville." So I took my bank, a red mask (145m) and staked it. I won another mask. So I staked both. Won again.
Sold both and bought Torva. Played around for a bit then went to stake it all again so I could be rid of everything. Got the horse from a random person that wished me luck. (f*** him, too) Staked it all for 550M because I didn't care.
For all 3 stakes, I set Auto on and accurate on. Then I afked for a few minutes. Won every single one. Gave the guy that gave me the horse 10M because [bleep] it.
I don't know if I should feel amazing that I took my bank and increased it by 8x in 3 stakes, or pissed off that, the one time I WANT to lose fairly, I win. Just... Going to bed. So many different emotions. Blarg.
what really annoyed me in this is you gave 10m to the guy selling you the horse, those people are not the noobs they seem, and try and play on people feeling generous to new players to get a nice profit. Everyone you ever see saying "selling toy horse 1k to buy full rune" is a scammer! You are supporting these scammers and general annoyances by paying them, give a polite [bleep] off to anyone offering to sell you a toy horse.
For one, he didn't sell it to me. He gave it to me before the stake.
2, you take this far, far to seriously. I mean Jesus. It's worse then League players.

Meca, not going to be one of the few people on here that come out with the typical "Give me your money ;)", but I do have one piece of advice for you if you want to quit, and you're looking to get rid of your money
Host games with your friends, such as Find Me contests. I semi-stole the idea from 999134th, basically you head to an area, you give a clue out regarding your area to your friends, and the first person to trade you wins
I did this many times, keeping the prizes from 5-15m, and I loved doing it, the reactions of friends were amazing :D

I think I'm going to get a Yellow Partyhat and just let it sit. Since it has no real use other then cost, investment status, and looks, it'll keep me from actually playing, while being there if I... Say... Get bored of my kitten, Mittens, and have some desire to play again.

Basically this causes 2 problems
1) More people likely to hack guy who has unlimited membership
2) (my opinion) More likely for him to get banned, as Jagex cares about making money off people. I pay 1 month at a time so jagex won't just ban me for "hijacking" or botting or something that has no evidential backing and run off with my money.
The amount of paranoia in this post is unbelievably amazing. I mean, really, I want to screencap it as proof that people like this exist.
1) Only way someone is getting hack is if they screw up themselves.
2) the 6 month membership is 5-10$ less total. They may be a company, but that 10$ isn't even going to be noticed by them.

Another "We want more money" idea by Jagex.
Few updates ago they said effigies are overpowered, not there is medium and huge xp lamps.
First off: Yes. They want more money. They killed half a population of bots that were paying membership. I would be too. Why fault them for keeping funds being generated so the game survives longer?
And the huge xp lamp is just as rare as the items, and the medium lamps, as far as I can tell, don't give you a choice of the skill that they affect. Therefore, they are far, far less powerful then Effigies are/were.
Wouldn't it be better to make good content to keep people playing rather then something like this?
"Good" is subjective. This content is 'good' to anyone who enjoys random drops and to those who won't ever have a chance to, say, own a divine on their own. Aka the 'average' player. Not all 'good' content is massive and complex and shiny as hell.
Besides, the way the fansite and forum-going part of the Runescape community is, there is no such thing as a 'good' update. It's been like that for literal years and that will never change.
Overall, it's my opinion that this update was, in fact, good. It added a 'lottery' system to the game that allows the non-elite a chance to get something from an elite sector of the equipment pool, and it added an ascetic option for those that don't care about gear. It even has Exp for skillers that don't care about either. It was also a feature-test update.
Of course, the same people who bash a company that has kept a game going for... 11? 12? one of those 2... That many years... As not knowing what they're doing are going to continue doing so. I mean, they've been doing it for years. No reason to stop now, right?

Sell account.
A hole opened for Account selling?
Yes... Someone wants to buy an account that likely will have low stats, a valueless bank, and only an untradable item that with either require a massive amount of skilling to do quests to wield the item, or at least a lot of combat training.
While the seller can do the above, it still relies on them actually getting the item. In that time, they could have just gotten the tradable version. Too much effort for little reward.

I stand corrected. Their power still is far lower then Effigy lamps and some are not a choice. (I have received a lamp that wasn't a choice for me.)
And, while 350k exp is significant, the amount of time it'd take to get one would negate the advantage and turn it into a lucky burst, seeing as it is in the 'super rare' category. It's likely that you will get one once a blue moon.

Eh. I welcome this. Gives players that wouldn't ordinarily have access to 'elite' level items a small chance at it.

If love exists who cares about age:o
The age discrepancy is still relevant if we're talking about minors or those with significant age differences (e.g. 18 year old girl with an 80 year old man).
To add to this, anything under 20 really doesn't know what love is. There are exceptions, of course, but most of the people in that age range confuse love with their body producing endorphins based on their 'feelings,' then confusing that with love for 5-10 years.

Wilderness can go do itself, cause it's pointless.. The other pk system we had was better.

I'm fast approaching 200k tokens and 9 million dungeoneering experience. I started the road for 200k tokens again because I wanted to own the best stab, slash, and crush Melee weapons. Now, I'm torn. The CLS, to be blunt, is crap. But I'm a bit ADD with collections. I own at least 1 of all 20 runes, all logs, metal bars, etc. I know I'll eventually own all the chaotic items, but I was wondering what tip.it's community's opinions are like for this.

Already have a cash pile set away for 99 magic if I got the CS.
Only boss hunting I do is BGW w/ team and Solo Arma.
For the above, I have the best equipment I can get for each, except insanely expensive things like Torva, Divine, etc.
What do all of you think?

What a childish thread. Basically the notion is "Hey guys! I made an arbitrary vote a while back, but the outcome wasn't what I wanted. Since the effects justify me, let me rub it in your faces!"
Free Trade and the old version of the wilderness are back. They have been for a while. The negatives that came with them are back as well.
Get off the drama llama and move on.
As for the "topic," I voted yes because I like staking. I also don't regret it, because I'm successful.

Anyway, I don't think it has. Not yet, at least. Once all stats hit 120 and all players seem to be dissatisfied, to some extent, with new content, then ya. We may have Jumped the shark. But, for now, no. It's too early to tell.
