Not really. I know of at least one MMPORG where they (the sweatshops) powertrain people's accounts and I have never yet heard anyone say that their account was stolen from them.

Jagex got a new CEO in August 07. Geoff Iddison. He was CEO of PayPal (Europe) for 7 years before he joined Jagex. Nothing to do with games at all. Just MONEY. You can look him up in you don't believe me. Is it any coincidence that a few months after Jagex get a new CEO (whom has never done anything with games) , these 'updates' start happening?
