  1. I've had three from one rock lol.

Yeah there must be a separate randomizer for doubles and triples, because if you do the math (like I did) it ends up to lottery win numbers.

ALSO I wasn't using an ammy of glory

Some one has to win the lottery... therefor even if its the odds of the lottery, its been done MANY times before....

  2. For all the stupid Americans that are talking about the World Cup not being important, let me just tell you that i'm American and have absolutely no interest in soccer, yet I am fully aware of Vuvuzelas and the final match-ups.

    It's called reading the news.

Reading the news, huh? Find me the word "vuvuzela" on any of these front pages (or any other legitimate new source).

    Yahoo: Top Stories

    MSN: Top Stories

    CNN: Top Stories

    Time: Top Stories

Not everyone clicks the sports tab and certainly NO ONE will randomly search for a word as obscure as "vuvuzela." Just because someone doesn't care about a sport, doesn't mean they're stupid. Where will it get you in life knowing who won the World Cup in 1966 (or 2010 for that matter)? Oh, it won't get you anywhere.

Instead of being so condescending, why don't you help the unenlightened learn? Perhaps it's because you're an arrogant individual who thinks he's better than everyone else. Wake up, you're not. Get over yourself and learn not to be an ass to everyone you talk to.

    http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/

Majority of Americans can't care less about the rest of the world's current events. (And this is coming from an American), therefor they only put it in the world category.

  3. Im all for this idea... i hate [cabbage] heels on the internet talking tough because they have anonymity.

This is a great idea. The people worried are the weak lamers who like to talk [cabbage] and act tough.

If you dont be a flaming [wagon] then who cares if people know your name.

What ever you say Kenny (Won't say your last name, as I believe in internet anonymity), and with that I know your last name, your address, your phone-number, your parents names (and if I cared more, their information too), your other usernames, your interests, and what communities you are apart of. it took me 30 minutes to research it all, and to connect you to your other usernames which lead to you.

I could make your life extremely difficult. I could have *tons* of [cabbage] delivered to your house, I could take out purchases orders in your name that would leave you in debt. I could harass you for years, all without exposing myself, and all it took was 30 minutes to research it all. Now imagine if this post you had made had your first and last name, that would change that 30 minutes into 5 minutes. The ability for me to quickly and easily screw you over would be worth it for some angry person that you make mad on a forum. He wouldn't even have to work for 30 minutes, he already has a big part of your information...... just 5 minutes and you are being sent 20 pizzas for "your" party.

Now do you understand why Real ID is a bad idea?

  4. A way to solve snipping is to allow people to modify how much they are buying/selling for.

That way people can just update their trade and they would still be in front of the snipper (If they of-course originally placed they order before the snipper). It solves the whole problem while still keeping the positive aspect of the waiting-line approach that they currently have on some items.

  5. They should just create a counter in there database, when a player kills another player take what side of the triangle's weapon they used to kill the other person and what side of triangle their opponent's weapon is and get some statistics on which side of the triangle is unbalanced.

TBH I think melee is overpowered, they aren't limited to what armor they wear, so if a melee sees a mage they just change to their d hide. If rangers or magers changed their armor to one of the 2 other sides, they would be extremely weak (since mage and range bonus is in the armor)

  7. Chrome FTW, go to Options > Default Search > Manage > Add

    Name: Grand Exchange
    Keyword: ge
    URL: http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/results.ws?query=%s&price=all&members=

Now just type 'ge runite ore' into your location bar and it will search for runite ore on the Grand Exchange

Beats having a crappy bar on your screen for one small thing.

  8. I have played 182 days according to my log, and thats in the 7+ years i have played runescape.

182 days of the average 27375 days that people live.

Who cares.. thats not even 1% of my life.

If I find joy in the game, hell I am going to play it.

  9. Awesome update.

Just they botched my rank because they didn't count the gold stands in my poh.

Really sucks have 4.6k tickets and only 1060 rank.

They better fix it so I can get that pro cape within the next 3 years....

I thought the ranks are only counted since the update?

I got the second set of armor in the bank, yet it says im unranked.

They game one game played per ticket to recognize the old time players.

Sadly they screwed this up because they failed to count all the tickets that people stored as armour stands in their home.

Thus I have 4600+ tickets yet only 1070ish games.

Its significant to me because it would put me in striking distance of the pro-cape.

Wow, that is lame, I actually had my suit of blue/white armor on (goes with my def cape) and they didn't count that either..

  10. Not sure if it has been explained before, didn't read whole thread.

The code of runescape is in two parts, Client and Server. The server is the logic of the game, its the drop rates, the spawn times, the database interaction, etc. The server sends out 'messages' to the play on what is happening in game, when a player moves, all other players in the area are sent a 'message' saying they moved, when you kill a monster and get a drop, the server sends a 'message' saying what amount of damage you did to it, that it died, and that it dropped something. The client is what takes these messages and turns them into something we understand through visual and/or audio. The server does not deal with media at all( textures, models, audio, item pictures, etc.) Its the client that deals with that, the server just sends the 'message' to display a certain item in some one's hand, or to display some one hitting a 250 on a monster.

We have the code of the client because we actually download it, We can look at what the client's code can accept, and fake it in a private server, we know what these 'messages' look like because we can see how the client interprets them.

The problem is, the server doesn't send the formulas, it doesn't send when something will happen, it only sends when something does happen, at that exact time.

Instead of sending the drop rates, it just sends what the drop is after it figures it out through the drop rates. instead of sending a message saying a rune rock will respawn in exactly 6 minutes and 32 seconds, it will instead send in 6 minutes and 32 seconds that it just spawned.

Private servers is faking a jagex server, they try copy jagex's formulas so that the game is realistic. Sure it looks exactly the same, but we have to remember the media of the game is stored on the client side not server side, so even if it looks the same, it can be 100% different.

Everything that has been done in private servers can already be done without them by looking through the client's code.

  11. They need to write RuneScape in C++ instead. It would run so much better it wouldn't be funny. I hate Java. :(

It's written in Runescript, not Java. Not to mention, Java is not hindering them at all with the quality of work they produce. It's being able to roll out every update to play in a browser with such low specs required and doing so with little computer process needed. Runescape could look like any PS3 game, but because it would not play on the majority of computers available Jagex choses not to.

No, its not written in RuneScript, it's written in Java. RuneScript is the scripting language they created IN java so that their developers don't need to know java to add content or change content in the game, but its still java doing all the work, they just type it in RuneScript and then it compiles into java. When you hear about 'engine updates' thats updates that are done in java, when you see an update like a new monster or what ever, thats RuneScript which uses the engine to create new content. In the end its still all java,

Now, for all we know the server side might actually be C++, we know for a fact the client side is Java (since the applet is java obviously) but they could actually use C++ or any other language for the servers so it can process much faster.

  12. There goes the last few hours of my yesterday play (from 79 to 80 attack) and my 7 sacred clay hammers ...

Noooo... why can't people read dammit?

I believe my eyes more than Jagex's words and the hiscores show 79 attack, not 80, which means that there were like 8 hours lost not 30 minutes.

except they announced on forums that highscores will be wrong until you logged in.

  13. No items are junk items.

I guarantee, the amount you make from getting junk items and doing an uneven trade is not worth the time/money it takes to get them.

You would make a lot more money selling/buying the item at GE price and do normal money making to make the difference, its much faster.

Of course, if you need fletching exp, go ahead and do fletching for junk making.

  14. What do I think is that they filled the smithing levels too fast.

Other skills didn't have stuff-to-do at levels 99 and such, except smithing.

    People complained because of that...

At least jagex didn't have same mistake with the other skills than smithing: "finishing" it too fast - there barely is any place for new things to obtain when doing runejunks is already at 90s.

People complain because there isn't enough high level content, but when the gears effect happens they complain because high level content is already out.

I wish they wouldn't release so much high level content, it ruins the game in the future.

  15. Could you go into more detail about how these companies would work? Would they be like clans?

I edited my post and removed it, I think its going to be Player-owned Shops (Like I said in another topic).

However, they could introduce a stock exchange type feature for people who do the quest and would be based on Player-Owned stores, which maybe they could release multiple-player owned stores where people could own a shop and do a business.

The idea of companies turned into player-owned shops, I think its much more likely. but you never know.
