This is my first post on these forums, but I've been playing RuneScape for almost two years now. Jagex's mods in terms of wilderness, trading limits, and drop options, in my opinion, were great. In F2P words, all you ever saw were bots and gold miners making skills such as woodcutting and minng a misery since thier numbers were always overflowing an area, constantly hoadring the resources (maybe you f2pers are familiar with this as well) and made leveling extremely difficult. Even worse, they often flooded servers with basically inert profiles, making it hard to participate on crowded words to trade or interact with others (such as clan wars or a group trek into a dangerous area.) I was never a PKer or serious discount maker (my average discount on items for friends and 'low income' people was about 6k) so these mods have little effect on me. I actually enjoy them because they make some activities in the wilderness (such as mining and monster training) much easier (no more 'cold blooded pkers' to worry about) However, you still have to be very careful about the 'abherrant ghosts' which are more than eager to kill any player they can. :x Of course, the trading limits have made it near impossible for real world traders to conduct thier illicit business. Real world trading meant almost anyone could become a billionaire overnight, making the game unfair for innocent f2p and p2p users. Honest players were at a constant disadvantage. Don't worry, maybe in the future Jagex will revise these features and return them to a small degree of their former selves after the real world traders have started going out of business. Unforunately, right now there are still people sponsoring real world trade and advertizing illicit sites, so these changes unlikely to happen anytime soon Of course, staking duels and staked clan wars can possibly make up for these changes.
