Hi, I'm doing some review for my calculus class. This is one problem I'm stuck on. I greatly appreciate anyone's help. Part A) sec^2(?) = tan^2(?) + 1 Part B) csc^2(?) = cot^2(?) + 1

Darn, I should have asked for help sooner. I had to turn my assignment in this morning, so I missed the last few couple posts. Thanks to everyone for their assistance in this thread. We haven't gone over the assignment due to having a substitute teacher today, but I really liked Utopianflame's clearly explained problem solving. I'll use it as a guideline for the future.

Well, there isn't a picture of the graph, but x^2 + 2 would be an upwards pointing parabola with an x-intercept at y = 2. Edit: killerbeer0 beat me to it. Thanks. :P

I've been putting off this homework until the end of spring break, and now I totally forgot how to do it. If anyone here knows how to do this problem, it'd be immensely appreciated if you could show me the steps to solve it. Thank you.
