Thank you VERY much for posting something that doesn't suck. Background is a little plain/odd, but the character looks very nice, a lot better than most of the "first attempts" i see on here.

A shield is another good option for something easy to model. Maybe try a dragon square?

Are you sure nothing at all is happening? Sometimes these boards get very laggy and it can take up to 5 minutes to load a page. It is probably jsut taking a long time to load. Check to see if you are getting a loading notification. If you click submit and nothing is even loading, then theres a different problem.

Yes sir, thats what I am reffering to by "The tools". With programs such as Adobe Photoshop 7, you can alter the dither and such on your .gif files. This will result in no quality loss, while still being a small file. .png is probably better to use, however some browzers cannot tolerate that file format. If you are saving images with paint, I would say to try using a .png and see how it turns out. I know that paint doesnt save .gif's right at all, but I really dont know how well it saves .png's. If the .png results in a loss of quality, go ahead and use the jpeg. A lot of people don't like jpeg around here, but if you have no other option then go ahead and use it.

The perspective is a little off, also. Try making the "camera angle" a little higher, so that it doesn't look like it is even with the horizon.

No, you can post more than .jpeg, I reccomend .png or .gif if you have the right tools to save it properly.

Okay dude, you obviously dont understand. The coloring was not the problem, the modeling is. Line art is the most important part of a pixel drawing. You can shade and stuff as much as you want, but if the line art is terrible, it won't make a difference. Your next "Attempts" should be fixing the modeling, not just trying to color it better. Teenageloser: Did I ever post a "OMG LOOK HERE GIVE ME CC???" Kind of post? NO. The only time I ever even made an abstract sig was for my "FREE sigs" thread. Which, may I add, were all FREE. And many of the people were very appreciative, even if the sig was terrible in comparison to other sigs. Not to mention that I have never even claimed to be a good sig maker. Nobody likes you anyway, so why don't you just go kill yourself. This thread isn't even about me, why do you post futile public assaults on me that have nothing to do with the subject of the thread.

I don't do pixels, because I know I can't shade. I don't post "First attempts" if they look like somebody sneezed on the screen. I'm gonna make one just for you now. Just to make you and all the other clueless idiots happy. Oh, and your method of thinking is completely flawed. The "You can't do better, so you can't criticize" is a terrible way of thinking. Ever criticize a really bad movie? Or a really bad president? Or an olympic athlete who messed up? Or a pop star who missed a note? Or maybe just a pro football player who missed a catch? Of course you have, we all have. Yet I know you can't do any of those things better than the professionals. You don't have to own a bar of gold to know that copper is inferior. Same goes for art, you don't have to have talent to recognize a lack of talent.

Why do people insist on sugar-coating everything? Tell him the truth for the love of God. Frankly, my friend, your drawing is terrible. The first step to a good pixel art is good line work. If your line drawings do not look good, dont even think about coloring them. While you line art is actually better than some other stuff I see (sad, isnt it?), you really need to work on that first. Then you can worry about coloring and shading. I suggest buying yourself a sketchbook and a case of pencils. Starting with the basics really helps. Im being nice to you because I think there is actually hope for you.

Wow...3rd post today like this... THIS IS NOT PIXELING!! IT IS A DRAWING!! "Pixeling" used to be the elite art of shading works pixel by pixel. Now it has turned into a bunch of people who draw a [cabbage]ty drawing in paint and say "LAWL FIRST PIXEL GIVE ME ADVICE!!??" Im really sick of all this stupidity. Unless you were going for "Comic book character run over by a steam roller", then I think it looks like crap.
