  1. I'm missing $500 I should have from them. How long should I wait? and yeah, I'm still living with my parents. What does that have to do with anything?
  2. So the place I work at does direct deposits for paychecks. I'm fine with that and all, but they're supposed to pay ever two weeks. I've been there for over three weeks. I spoke to my manager and he said that the money should have already been deposited. It hasn't. What do?

  4. Guilty Crown, Un Go (I somehow managed to miss 2 episodes), Mirai Nikki, and Boku Tomo tomorrow for sure (probably). Maybe a few others if the sub groups stop dragging their feet.
  5. I've never actually smelled weed. At least I think I haven't.
  6. I wish I had a longer attention span.
  7. Girl interactive picture book time
  8. @Napalm: About 50 hours
  9. Do most people actually think in words?
  10. Does anyone else get urges to torture babies?
  11. Shitty hot chocolate and shitty pizza. Yeah
  12. What I'm trying to say is that you can be as dumb as a rock and still get in the military.
  13. So they made an OVA for SYD. I was expecting a new episode. It was a [bleep]ing compilation of clips from previous episodes. I was disappointed.
  14. You're describing stupid people.
  15. Girl cartoon time
  16. If you lack the ability to process information quickly, you shouldn't be let into the military in my opinion. Most people already do that, they just dig it deeper and make sure it's there. Already do what?
  17. @Pie [hide=Kanbaru from Bakemonogatari] [/hide]
  18. Then Abc killed the thread

  20. Stopped reading right there. @Halo: http://bindingofisaac.wikia.com/wiki/Tarot_Cards/List
  21. >"Epic" in the title Insta-nope @Halo: I don't know what that means.
  22. Training to be a maid is serious business. I admit you made me double check. But cleaning is pretty basic, so we "learned" to do that in boot camp. It's a bit of a pain to get polish(as in for shoes, not a nationality) off of the deck. @abc There's not a shit ton to learn about why, it's either really obvious, or because the Navy says so. For instance, "Don't touch an IED." Why? BECAUSE ITS A [bleep]ING IED. Don't mess with detainees. Why? You're not supposed to, and it just makes everything more difficult. Both pretty obvious. I'm talking about shit like "How does an IED work?" so you know how to disarm it if you came across one. Yeah, they could just give you a flow chart on what to do, but anybody could do that. I'm talking about stuff that actually requires you to think. I think the "because the Navy says so" kind of answers my question. You just do what you're told and leave the thinking to the higher ranks. That's not an insult or anything. The physical shit you have to go through isn't something just anyone can do.
  23. He's learning that x does y. He's not learning how to learn that and why x does y.
  24. The beginning was good, but then it was just a bunch of random clips with music in the background. @Seany: So you're just memorizing facts...
  25. What kind of tests? I believe those particular failures failed the test about pepper spray, and some other basic stuff. So you don't actually do any written academic tests in the Navy? They were written. And to rank up there are written tests. They're pretty easy so far if you study. I haven't gotten below a 92 yet. What kind of stuff do you need to learn for the tests? I always kind of assumed it's like "Explain how to take apart, put together, and shoot [gun]." Do you have to do any actual math? Like "Pvt. [bleep] shoots pepper spray at 20 degrees from ground level at 20m/s blah blah blah"? I don't have anything like that, but depending on your job you might. For instance today we learned how we're supposed to treat detainees and such. Previously we've learned about the weapons and stuff. So for my tests I have to know what form to fill out to give to the CO if I want to search someplace. Also they drill Deadly Force into us (ie When we can use it, the definition of it) because if you ever have to use Deadly Force, even if totally justified, you will go to Court Martial and be investigated. So you basically just memorize facts? There's not actually any application stuff? If it's possible, could you give an example of a few questions from a test? I'm really curious to see what it'd be like.
