  1. In response to the guy that said Jagex will never send you an e-mail, you obviously have not played the game that long. They used to use e-mail, then they switched to the message centre as it was more secure. The fact of the matter is, they still have an e-mail address which is identifiable to a f2p or p2p player. Whether or not new players have to provide an e-mail address I do not know. I have not created a new charatcer in a long time.
  2. That is what I thought initially, which is why I sent it three times. However, I have checked and double checked the address, and it still doesn't work. Maybe it is because I am using hotmail? I would imagine they could identify if you were p2p or f2p from your e-mail address. Every account has an e-mail address associated with it, so they could lookup the incoming e-mail, and bounce it if it doesnt match with a p2p account. I don't know if this is correct, it was just a thought thats all. Perhaps someone who is f2p could let me know if they have sucessfully sent a message to the postbag. Thanks. Andrew
  3. Ok, thank you very much. Please let me know if you get a reply or anything. I hope they do update this, I can't see any harm in them doing it.
  4. That's why I want to send this letter in. They have changed something like this before after a letter was sent in. I think it was some amulet a character was wearing.
  5. I have checked and double-checked the e-mail. I am sure it is not that. Can you really get another sword after the quest if you give him another pie and then the ores? Have you actually done this? Please confirm this for me. Andrew
  6. I have tried several times recently to send a letter to the postbag, but without success. My e-mail gets returned saying delivery failed. I presume this is because I am f2p. I don't know but I presume it checks your e-mail adress against p2p accounts. Please correct me if I am wrong and tell me what I am doing wrong. (I have tried sending to [email protected].) If I am right, would a kind member send in my letter for me? I would be very grateful if you would do this for me: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Thurgo, I sucessfully completed the Knight's Sword quest in the old fashioned days of 2D! I am thankful you could help me out with the quest, perhaps I will drop another red berry pie around somewhen. I must say, I am a little amazed recently with what I have seen. People that have completed the Knight's Sword quest are also proudly carrying their own blurite sword! As much as I have tried to barter with such people, they will not sell me their sword. I ask you most sincerely, could you make me a blurite sword? Of course I would provide the materials, and a red berry pie as a way of saying thank you! If you could do such a thing, it would make me incredibly happy. Yours sincerely, Andrew_001 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thank you in advance. Andrew
  7. I have tried on at least 3 occasions over the last two weeks to send a letter to the [email protected] address. Each time I have tried, the e-mail comes back with the following message: 'Delivery to the following recipients failed.' I don't know why this is the case. I have checked the address and it is correct. Does anyone else get this problem or had this problem? Is it restricted to P2P only (by checking if your e-mail address is associated with a P2P account)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Andrew
  8. I used to think the same, but I thought that this changed with the letters to the postbag. They put an e-mail at the bottom of each edition and so I assumed this was how you sent in a letter. I did look at the website, but i can't find anywhere to contact them, unless it is a bug report or similar. Where else can i contact them through the website? Perhaps someone who has sent in a letter can help. Thanks. Andrew

  10. It always amazes me how people manage to post something completely irrelvant for no reason. What is this jimbo, a childish attempt to increase your post count? You describe the weapon as 'noob looking'. Your opinion, not a fact. You describe the weapon as 'useless'. Not true and only your opinion. I would like to see you create a level three character and start training combat with a rune weapon straight away. Oh wait, you can't. So you need another weapon as a lower level player.....oh look.....the blurite sword is an option. Not to mention that people might want to use the sword as part of an outfit. Have you ever considered that people play the game for 'fun'? Might be an alien concept to you. Being the best or having the best isn't important for everyone. I personally collect rare items. I don't care if I have the most, I just enjoy collecting. I would like to congratulate you jimbo on insulting a Tip.It mod and several respected members of the community. Anyone that has posted with relevant comments doesn't fit into the 'couldn't care less' category. In your opinion, they are therefore a noob. Somehow don't think you are going to win the next forum popularity contest. Now please keep off my post. Thank you for those who have posted relevant comments. Andrew.
  11. Thank you for the information. Message sent! :) Will be interesting to see what happens. Make sure if you are in the same position that you also send a similar message. At least then we should get a response from Jagex. Andrew.
  12. Thanks for the repsonse guys. Perhaps someone who is a member could post this on the forums for me who. The Postbag idea sounds great. I would be grateful to all those that can to make a request. I assume this is members only, if it is for non-members too, please inform me how to do it. Thanks. Andrew. P.S. Perhaps the question could read something like this: Dear Thurgo, I sucessfully completed the Knight's Sword quest in the old fashioned days of 2D! I am thankful you could help me out with the quest, perhaps I will drop another red berry pie around somewhen. I must say, I am a little amazed recently with what I have seen. 13. I completed the Knight's Sword quest in RS1. As far as I am aware, there was no way to complete the quest and get a blurite sword for yourself. Now in RS2, from what I have read, you can get a sword for yourself (several if you are quick enough) by dropping the sword(s) at the appropriate time. If this is true, it is not very fair for people that completed the quest in RS1. We now have no way of getting a blurite sword. The combat ability of the sword is irrelevant, its just annoying not being able to get one (for the sake of completeness, and for outfits). I don't know why Jagex don't let you get one in much the same way as the silverlight. It is untradable anyway, being a quest item so people can't shortcut the quest. I can't see any reason to not have the same setup as there is for the silverlight. I would post and ask on the forums, but I am not a member so I can't. Perhaps someone who is a member could post this? If I have got anything wrong, please let me know. I would appreciate your viewpoints on this. Thanks. Andrew.
  14. I got the game the day before release because I pre-ordered it off a website. The actual game is briliant WHEN it is running well. Getting into a game and getting it running well are the difficult parts. I have a Pentium 4 3.6Ghz processor with HT, ATI X600 256mb graphics card, and 1gb of ram. I'm not sure what my sound card is, I think it is a soundblaster. I can still only play the game on medium settings for graphics and sound, it just about copes. I think I may need another gigabyte of ram, thats the first thing I am going to upgrade anyway. Then if necessary the graphics card and sound card, but this will be very expensive. If you want to play online on ranked servers, it is incredibly difficult. For a start the server list is incredibly slow to refesh and the filters are buggy as usual. Also, there aren't enough ranked servers, so most of them are full. It is literally a case of waiting for a spot to become available, and then trying to click to join the server before about a thousand other people that are trying to do the same thing. This becomes very irritating after a while. It sometimes takes an hour to get on a server. Even more annoying is that the EA UK servers are not ranked, for what reason I have no idea. When you get on the server, it takes a minute or two for the game to settle down. Sometimes you get disconnected really quickly too, again this is annoying. So you finally get playing, you check to see what rankings you have earned and they haven't updated. It takes ages, and some games seem to be lost and don't count. With all these down sides, this is a great game. It is worth all the hastle, I just hope they sort out some of the issues to make it a more complete enjoyable experience. When you get into a good game where people are working in squads effectively with a good commander, and the voice-over IP is working well, this game is the best in its class. Most of the time you get a server full of muppets who don't play as a team. You get the usual idiots who run out in front of your jeep going at full speed so you team-kill them and then they can punish you, causing you to lose about four points. I think that in a couple of weeks, this game will be much better to play online. There will be more servers (hopefully), and better monitoring so that you always have a good game. I'm hoping to sort out my PC in time for when EA sort out their problems. Andrew.
