Sounds like a plan to me. How hard is the monkey madness quest?

I'm trying to work my combat up to a higher level. I'm currently 55 atk, str, and def. I have a Rune scimmy and full rune armor set. I'm a member. What skill should I raise next and what weapon should I be looking for? I've always wanted a whip but thats 70 atk and no option to train str so that may have to wait a while. Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Well i'm 56 Magic currently but only 24 prayer. What would be a decent magic level to take it on?

See thats what bugs me. I've heard such varied answers on this. You need the quest to wield the Dragon scimitar but if a 114 has trouble with it. Then it must be a lot harder at lower levels.

I'm slowly closing on the elusive 60 atk needed for a dragon weapon and I was wondering. Just truly how difficult is the Monkey Madness quest? You have to defeat a level 195 Jungle Demon! At my current level I wouldn't even consider such a thing. What skills/equipment is needed to defeat the demon?

This would be an interesting bit of information to have. It would be nice if Jagex would include it in the control panel or something. Alot of other games do that like Warcraft and FFXI. I know my brother is nearing 300 DAYS! of play time on FFxi. isn't that scary?

Yeah. Thought the same thing. 56k post. 56k internet. Here's one for you though. My first modem was 28k. Lol. Now I feel old......... 60 Atk, then str sounds like a good plan. When should I bring def along for the ride? an then what? 60 Atk --> 60 Str ---> 60 Def ---> 101 Str?

So I just activated my Member account for the fun of it. But it's been awhile since I've played. I'm gonna be focusing mostly on leveling my combat skills for a while. Currently I have 53 Atk, 52 Str, 50 Def. Full Rune set to include a rune Scimmy and Kite shield. My question is what would be the next step to train for my combat skills and what weapon/armor should I be looking to get next?

Correct. I meant the hunting of monsters. Not the skill. I've never done the skill and have no desire to at this point.

Ok. To narrow down this discussion then. I used to really enjoy hunting monsters. Where would be a good place to go with my skill and gear? Somewhere that I might have a chance to make a bit of gold from drops but not so dangerous as to get me killed.

It's not a matter of whether I'm going to play or not. It's a question of what I should to. There are lots of things to do in RS. Some of which I don't even know because they are newer. But I logged in and found myself just sitting there with no idea what to do. Or where to go.

As the title says I'm an "older" player looking to maybe come back to Runescape. But it has been quite some time since I last played. Like November of 2006. Not sure what I want to do or where to go. I will most likely stay free account for a while till I get back into things a bit more. I have about 125k gold and a full Rune set to include scimmy and kite shield. And these are my skills.
