I don't often post over on this site, but I just had to share this.
I have been forum banned on the RSOF twice in the past week and had several threads locked. Not because I am a spammer or flamer, but because I was merely speaking my opinion regarding the recent refer a friend program and the resulting chaos that arose.
Goes without saying that I have recently discontinued my membership of the past 5 years.
Share any similar stories or comments you have. My RSOF forum name is the same as here so feel free to check out my locked threads while they last; and give your opinion as to whether I really deserved to be forum banned not once but twice.

In regards to the first topic, I don't think we have to worry about RWTers becoming too powerful. Don't forget, that as a failsafe, Jagex could always just reinstate the trade limit. Thus making RWTer's efforts once again useless.
personally, free trade is overrated, and I think more and more people are realizing what mistake they made by voting yes on the free trade reinstatement poll. At least that is what I've seen from the RSOF.

You do know that if you do smoking kills you can start collecting slayer points to trade for death runes. 99 slayer will get you enough points for about 40m worth of death runes. This is aside from any drops you get along the way.
Bottom line, don't waste points on canceling tasks.

I don't understand why you would block them, they're fast exp for me and I can finish a task in a little under an hour. Just Piety the task if you already don't.
Guthans > prayer. Wear the plate and legs all the time. Keep the spear and helm in you inventory for healing while you use whip/slayer helm at high health.

I commend the author of the first article for bringing up this important issue. I have a similar thread on "constructive critisism" in the RSOF entitled "Is Elitism Good?" that addresses the same issue of ever increasing content and how it is dividing the community. I'm glad someone else shares my views.

1.) I too use the staff of light spec for my tunnel brother (either dharok or verek). Glad to see someone else who figured it out.
2.) You don't need herblore for barrows. Mage will always be the best way to do barrows quickly and potions are really not needed due to their low mage def. Perhaps bring a super defense potion but it's not required.

I almost never need to heal too much. I almost never use more than 3 pieces of food per run. I'm not sure of your defense but even at 80ish defense you should not need too much food. And if you have a karyll portal it is really quick to bank between chest loots so there is really no reason to try to do more than one run without banking.

Question 1. I've been using SoL spec to tank dharok with no prayer. No one else seems to do this. Do they know something I don't?

Glory's are annoying to recharge. Can you make a Mobilising Armies tab?

Sell uncharged, buy charged. 0gp loss and if you buy like 50 at a time you won't have to "recharge" them often.

ring of dueling>tele tab. Cheaper and closer to a bank.
Amulet of glory beats both of them. Virtually free as you can reuse them. Plus, it's debatable as to whether edgevill bank is closer than cw bank.

I personally wear an enchanted water tiara to neutralize the desert effect. But you might not want to do this if you don't want to sacrifice the slayer helm. So some people also bring 2 waterskins and humidify runes to keep refilling them.

Couldn't agree with the achievement vs fun article more. In fact I have a very similar thread on the RSOF concerning the overemphasis on grinding to 99s. Always nice to see someone who shares my views.

Yea, serum 207s are a pain. Just let them accumulate in your bank and buy more vials from shops. They're cheap enough where it's not worth the pain of emptying and reusing.

Level 120 cap would be a horrible idea and would only demean everyone's existing accomplishment that they spent their whole RS experience to attain

Can you purposely give bob the wrong fish? After enough failures, will be teleported to a random location back in Runescape with your home teleport disabled for like 10 minutes. Not sure if it gives exp for failure, but it's worth a try.

Keep your back to a wall and they can't use their burrow special attack.

Maybe you're doing too slow. Use black salamander method? Slayer dart is obsolete.

Slayer dart is not obsolete. In fact, get a staff of light and it is the best method for doing slayer. Not only will a staff of light save you runes but the spec reduces melee damage you take by half (perfect for dharok and verak tunnals).

Bring high alch runes for every kill, as basically all the drops they have are just alchables.
You can get the occasional rune halberd/rune kiteshield too. I get 3-4 of these per task.

Guthans. Wear the top and bottom and keep spear and helm in inv for when you need to heal.

Slayer is a good money make after you do Smoking Kills. It's not a very hard mid level quest. Once you do it though, you can start collecting points and bring in the money with death runes. As well as the normal slayer drops.

There's plenty of safespots either in the cactus room or the 2 guardians near the hole. So defense should not be an issue so go for the highest mage attack in regards to armer. for armer, a couple items I highly suggest are staff of light and hexcrest. Not sure of the kalphite's mage defense theough so try maging a few and see how you do.
Also, note that wearing a piece of sacred clay mage armer gives you double mage exp. The tradeoff is you sacrafice mage accuracy, which may or may not turn you off. I suggest clay hats if you choose to do this, but that would sacrifice your hexcrest. So maybe top or bottom.

Turn on mage protect BEFORE the wave with the 360 spawns. Prayer has been messed up for awhile and has had a delay on prayers activating.
Other than that, killing just one 360 should be easy, and even easier with guthans if you want to save for it.

Don't forget Jagex's hipocritical Flagstaff of Real World Trade (I mean Festivities). It goes against their feelings towards the Dec 2007 updates completely.

What's you're crafting and fletching levels?
If you can make your own d hide/ammo go to entrana dungeon. Bring 6 hides of the highest level color you can craft (needle and thread too). If you bought the ability to make broad bolts bring some unf bolts and feathers and unstrung xbow and string.
Put everything together after you pass through entrana and are in the dungeon. And boom, you have 2 greater to yourself that virtually noone uses.
I thought those were Black Demons?
And after you teleport you go north into the volcano and kill them. There is a bank nearby if you need to.
No, blacks are in taverly dungeon. I'm talking about entrana dungeon (which is impossible to use if you don't make your own equipment after getting past entrana).
Yes i know where you're talking about, and i thought those were black demons. I haven't been there in forever. Oh and to do all that for just 2 is pointless, better off going some where else.
They spawn fast enough that by the time you finish killing one the other one spawns. Granted the Kuradel's dungeon is still the best spot (even if it does get a bit crowded at times), Entrana is still a viable option if you want to escape the crowds.
