  16. This could work, but it might end up as "too soon". But I'd have her confront him about it first. Who knows, they could have been cousins or something.
  17. The problem with telling her to dump him is that you obviously have interests in her, thus making your advice (though logical) seem skewed. Should you try to comfort her she will try her best to make anything you say make it worse. Should you leave her alone to cry it out, you will seem cold and detached.
